I just opened a bottle of milk....

....a plastic one. Why is there some clear liquid sitting on the seal of the bottle after I removed the cap? Is it condensation or some sort of mildew and, therefore, indication the milk is bad?

how quickly does soy milk spoil? the cartons say 7-10 days but i've heard some people say that it doesn't go bad.
