KEEP IT GREASEY ...

... so it'll go down easy! I'm talking about food, of course. I realize that not only do I love greasy food, I am unashamed that I love greasy food! Burgers, bacon, Frito Lay's potato chips (because they are the greasiest, none of those namby-pamby Pringles bullchips!), fried chicken, Uncle Stash's kielbasa and pierogies, fishbakes (watch out for the samonella, though), cooking with lard. I love it all. Maybe it's because I can still keep my svelte boyish figure, but what the hell?

Do y'all like greasy food, too?

if pizza does not stain the box it should not be eaten

Cottage cheese pergois fried in bacon greese. Otherwise sausage and spegitta sauce can be prety dirty.

There is NOTHING like a Whopper with Cheese. NOTHING. Except maybe a Double Whopper. With cheese.

A really good pizza is indeed worthy. As is a really good French onion soup. Mmm.

Three Japanese words: TORI KARA AGE.

That's marinated chicken dipped in special batter, fried well, served HOT. In one of those London Japanese restaurants I refuse to name in writing ANYWHERE (sorry).

A far cry from the deep fried cheese curds from the Minnesota State Fair. Actually, a CORN DOG also sounds good right now!

Another good thing: fish fingers deep fried and dipped in a mayo/thai chili sauce mix.

Just for this thread ...

I will shortly be making french toats with butter and syrup

Ed, Sunday, 28 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The only fatty/greasy thing I like is coconut cream (which I'm sure Nude Spock would tell me is carcinogenic if he were to read this thread) but now that someone mentioned syrup I'm going to have to have brandy-snaps with soy-icecream and syrup. YUMMMMMMMMMMMM!

In my pre-vegan days I used to like fishfinger sandwiches. What you'd do is put lots of butter on white bread then put freshly fried fish fingers and tomato sauce in the middle and the hot fish fingers would make the butter melt so that the bread would be all moist and soggy from it. YUMMO!!

I once had a party (as part of a pre-celebration for the first ever THIS AIN'T NO PICNIC festival in Orange County... the very one where Sonic Youth's gear was stolen) where the theme was a) vegan potato tacoes, and b) Elvis sandwiches...

Elvis Sandwich = Two butter-grilled slices of white, white bread with banana... slap together, put marshmellow creme and peanut butter in between. Eat. I had one. It was good, but heavy.

The Mizithra cheese and browned butter spaghetti at the Old Spaghetti Factory is another trashy, greasy classic.

greasy pizza is good. however, floury non-greasy pizza is better, generally because the only way i can get that is to make it myself so when i eat it it is REALLY HOT. tortilla chips are okay at times. other than that, greasy food is disgusting.

that's scary. i can't believe i said that. i still like sweet and fatty food though!

I love greasy food. I feel guilty about eating eat, which is probably nonsense... I never gain a pound no matter what I eat. I live down the street from an awesome soul food restaurant that makes incredible fried chicken... maybe I'll get some for lunch.
