Fancy A Game Of Tennis, anyone?

You see, near my house there's these really nice tennis courts. I quite like playing tennis, and figured that with the nicer weather arriving, I should start doing at least some form of outdoor physical exercise. Anyone care to join me?

I'm thinking of a semi-regular time on Saturday or Sunday, late morning. I would have to book a court, but it's pretty cheap - only a few quid. I'm by no means a pro - my skills are 'average' at best.

The courts are in Highbury Fields - N5. Pretty easy to get to from Highbury & Islington tube (Victoria line), or even easier from 4 or 19 bus routes...

This is like football for me: I was good in my day, but my day was the '70s, when I was school champion. I've played I think twice since leaving school. I could play for five minutes then collapse in a corner, if that's any use to anyone.

I'm probably up for it; I live in Highbury so rude not to. I knock about a bit on those courts @ weekends a bit anyway , but all my friends are waaaaaay better than I. I am crap. If anyone else is crap and wants to play a crap girrl, I am your woman.

Not this Sat though as I have to go up North
to visit boyfriend's ancient grannie.

P.S; I have balls. The courts are c. £8 a hour.

P.P.S> They do lessons. Anyone fancy learning what they are doing? You can do a six week course after work. I think it starts soon, if it hasn't already, and runs throughout summer.

OK, I've booked a court for this Saturday - 12 noon (11 was full). So that's me, Marianna, and possibly Ken in his cute skirt. If someone else wants to join feel free. Yeah, it's £7.60 - not too bad.

They only do bookings up to a week in advance, so when we're there I'll try to book 2 courts for May 1st around 11.

I have no tennis racket any more, so will rely on a temporary loan, if I manage to show at all. The picnic idea sounds fun, depending on weather of course (been very erratic lately) - I'll try to bring something too, if I can make it (I have been intermittently very depressed of late, and it's possible I won't be able to get myself out of the house at all)(also there is a FAP the previous night, so I might be too tired).

It's in Brockley, it's supposed to be VG according to The Nipper and the Stead-i-bot, but I've never been myself!
