Beautiful star of Bring it on and (allegedly) future Mrs Number5? or beautiful eventual winner in Cruel intentions?

it's all in the subtleties methinks.

chris, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

methinks is such a cool word and completely underused!

smythe,mr smythe, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I don't even know who Kirsten Dunst is.

DG, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten Dunst!
My evidence: 'The Virgin Suicides' and lack of smugness. And better looking.

DavidM, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

they are kind of interchangeable to me, i've seen The Virgin Suicides and thought it was OK. i don't think i'd recognise either of them if i saw them on the street.

katie, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten Dunst - for being so unbelievable gorgeous in Interview With A Vampire! Ooh, I want to be a little girl again.

toraneko, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That's weird, so Kirsten Durst is the little girl in IwaV? She was so creepy in that film, probably the only thing in it. Also liked her in Virgin Suicides. So she wins, Witherspoon is alright but she always has to play this "I'm dumb but in a strange way quite smart" type of wide-eyed blond girl.

Omar, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten Dunst is just what I need.

JM, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Reese Witherspoon is Tracey Flick. Kirsten Dunst is MARY JANE WATSON. Face it, tiger - you just hit the jackpot.

David Raposa, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten is kool in Drop Dead Gorgeous
Reese rules in Freeway
How can one take sides?

And who is Mr Number5? I'll kill 'im.

Jeff Worrell, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Don't know the first name (do I?) but I am willing to agree that both are gorgeous.

the pinefox, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Both are classic, though Witherspoon gets cast more in comedy and Donst gets cast more in drama. Reese Witherspoon has Election and Legally Blonde and Kirstin Dunst has Interview and Virgin Suicides.

turner, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten Dunst can't act. Reese Witherspoon can (tho how she "stacks up" against the competition is debatable). So, um, Reese.

This really isn't about acting, is it.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

No, it's really not. And Kirsten has Bring It On. Like, awsome, oh wow! Say totally freak me out! I mean right ON!

JM, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten wins!...She was great in Virgin Suicides.

james, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They both have mushy mouths.

Ally, Monday, 29 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Jimmy the mod you are so totally right, just remember to be agressive, be be agressive.

And Jeff, Mr Number5 is a chum who completely wuvs Ms Dunst, who is allegedly as dumb as a stick, but, frankly, who cares?

Although Reese's devil face in Cruel intentions has an odd effect on me.

chris, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Isn't Dunst going to be Spiderman's Mary-Jane? Nobody mentioned that crazy/beautiful film either maybe because nobody cared. Anyways i'm for Dunst i reckon.

Honda, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kirsten Dunst does NOT have a mushy mouth... neither does Reese Witherspoon for that matter.
Now, Angelina Jolie - there! There's a mushy mouth!

DavidM, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Reese has a chin that works on a variety of levels.

Will, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

huh?

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Do people read my posts (about, say, MARY JANE WATSON)? Or am I just invisible to y'all? Man alive!

David Raposa, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

how does a chin work on many different levels?

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think Kirsten Dunst will make a great Mary. I also think Tobey MacGuire will be a great Spidey.

Jonnie, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah, half of Reese's acting comes in the form of chin variations.

DavidM, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

what the hell?

May I be first to offer a prize in this circle jerk? first one to ejaculate gets an evening with a prostitute.

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

They do TOO have mushy mouths - small, thin, warbly, with weird chins (particularly Reese). They look like playdough people. I don't like that at all. Angelina Jolie, while unattractive in her own special spectacular way, does not have a mushy mouth, she has a very defined, strong mouth with a very angular, pointed chin, which is the exact opposite of a mushy mouth.

Ally, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...
Kirsten, I just thought you should know, that, if things don't work so good with Mel, I've decided to marry you instead. You can be kind of like her understudy. Anyway, I'll let you know.

G xx

Graham (graham), Monday, 17 February 2003 13:27 (twenty-two years ago)

angelina jolie's lips look like they're made out of sausage meat!

minna (minna), Monday, 17 February 2003 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll have to fite! Jonnie for her Graham.

chris (chris), Monday, 17 February 2003 14:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Reese is a MASSIVE bitch-control-freak-psycho-type-A-woman. My friend interned for the production company she has w/ Ryan Phillipe, her hubby, who is reportedly very nice, accomodating, Type-B and bi (but she puts up with it, they have a kid now you know).

Kirsten is very charming and down to earth. Another friend of mine, he went to high school with her, and was seriously considering asking her out to the prom. She goes bowling a lot. She hasn't done a great movie yet (like Reese's Election), but since she's not a mega-bitch, she wins.

Vic (Vic), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

She hasn't done a great movie yet

??????

Kirsten Dunst was in "Interview With The Vampire"!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:13 (twenty-two years ago)

?????????????????????????????????

are you forgetting Bring it ON?????

chris (chris), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:15 (twenty-two years ago)

(I'd originally listed "Bring It On" and "Spiderman" too, but decided to stick with the movie where she'd been nominated for an award for her acting.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Drop Dead Gorgeous is great too, though it starts off shakily and the documentary style is completely pointless and quite often forgotten about.

Graham (graham), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

It is indeed very good, it was on last night but I forgot to watch it. It's the kind of film you recommend and people go "what???" but it was ten times better than I thought it'd be.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok, I was being instigatorish, sorry. = ) Mainly because everyone always goes on about how great Virgin Suicides was but it WASN'T, she was the only good thing about it. It was a rubbish film. Even though I haven't seen all of Interview, I feel the same sentiments may be true about it: she was the best thing. Stay away from adaptations, Kisten? Sorry that I stuck to the movies wherein both actresses blossomed into babes post-puberty (even though I admit that Kirsten was hot in Interview, come on, she was 12!!! Don't you have BOUNDARIES?).

While not as witty or satirical or consistent as Election, I'll concede that Bring it On was a great movie, even though the ending was uber-obvious. I wanted more of a dramatic smackdown thang. The brushing teeth scenes were so charming and non-contrived. Spiderman was a good, but not a great, movie. She was one of the better points. She's just so charismatic, the camera seems to adore her illuminating presence no matter what she's doing. My favorite moment in VS is that montage of hers, the close-up of her face bathing in a golden sunlight. Despite the fact that her hair didn't really look 70s at all, but that was all evil Sophia's fault.

I need to see DDG.

Vic (Vic), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Dick is Urgent and Key.

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

You would say that, Pete. Slapper.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Reese because I automatically side with short people. Solidarity is important.

Interview with the Vampire was so awful I couldn't even watch to the part where Kirsten Dunst came in. I endured about half an hour and then I was just like "Okay I give UP now!" I do NOT see the appeal of that movie. (And I read the book, going "ooh this is just like awful melodramatic fanfiction!")

Maria (Maria), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Were you twelve when you read the book? I found that helped me enjoy it a lot. (I'd outgrown Anne Rice by the time I hit 16.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope you didn't put that on your college application Dan.
"I was so smart I'd outgrown Anne Rice when I was 16!"

Pete (Pete), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm. I think I might've been 14, not sure though.

Maria (Maria), Monday, 17 February 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope you didn't put that on your college application Dan.

Hey, it worked, didn't it?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 16:02 (twenty-two years ago)

"Have you got anything told from the vampire's point-of-view?" - Otto

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 17 February 2003 16:04 (twenty-two years ago)

This one is impossible. I choose Brittany Murphy.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 17 February 2003 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Trying to ignore personality, in terms of attractiveness, easily Kirsten Dunst.

But Reese obviously the better actress.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Monday, 17 February 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought KD was very good in Interview With A Vampire, which I didn't like. I can't think if I've seen her in anything else, but RW has been great in a few things, especially Election which I loved, so she wins.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 17 February 2003 19:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Martin, you've *got* to see "Bring It On" and "Drop Dead Gorgeous"!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 February 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

have you seen Spiderman Martin?

jel -- (jel), Monday, 17 February 2003 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

The Kirsten fancyers and Drop Dead Gorgeous lovers are my new kindred spirits. I do have love for Reese too, even after what Vic said.

Barima (Barima), Friday, 14 November 2003 20:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Obviously, Reese is the answer.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 14 November 2003 20:42 (twenty-one years ago)

dunst is great in crazy/beautiful but man that movie craps out in the end!

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 14 November 2003 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

definitely Kirsten, although I only know her from Spiderman.

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 15 November 2003 23:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Do people read my posts (about, say, MARY JANE WATSON)? Or am I just invisible to y'all? Man alive!
-- David Raposa (dave...), October 30th, 2001.

Maybe you have your font setting adjusted to make all your posts appear as white against white, therefore, invisible. I know I do! (note: you can't see this)

Skottie, Sunday, 16 November 2003 00:59 (twenty-one years ago)

yup, still posting in white.

Skottie, Monday, 17 November 2003 10:06 (twenty-one years ago)

seven months pass...
I like Resse Witherspoon way better then Kirstin Duns't. Man In The Moon Proves she was the better childhood actress. Just because someone is nice, and sweet in their movies doesin't mean they are in person. I'm so pissed off at actor Jake Gyllenhall wright now for even dateing KD she treated Tobey Maguier like shit on Oprah. I would like to punch her in her face good thing I don't live in Holly-wood!!!!!!!
Sorry Jakes That's just how I feel about her she's so fake!!!!
Jake and Tobey are great guys who could do much better. I'm their #1 fan.

Tiffany T Isaacson, Monday, 28 June 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

hahahaha "duns't"

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

What movies has Jake Gyllenhall Wright been in?

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I dursn't ask what Tiffany means.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Lately, I've liked Dunst more than I used to. I think Eternal Sunshine helped.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I LOVE THE SMITHS.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Monday, 28 June 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I watched Sweet Home Alabama at the weekend. That counts as a minus for Reese I think, but Election more than balances that, so keeps her on top for me.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

man kirsten dunst needs to sit on my face

benito mussolinington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

oh duns't say that

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i duns't know what came over me

benito mussolinington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Dunst dancing around in Eternal Sunshine was pretty intense. I think I had to look away for a moment.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i've happily forgotten r.w. by the way. ms. dunst remains hott.

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:15 (twenty-one years ago)

her teeth!

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(are awesomely crooked)

amateur!st (amateurist), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

i was serious btw. if she's reading, call 1-900-STRONGOO, the extra O is for orgasm.

benito mussolinington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Burly 45-year-old-men who think they could pass for Kirsten Dunst across the globe are diving for their telephones as we type.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't bother, it's a fake number.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It's 1-600-STRONGOO.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

TRANSYLVANIA-65000

benito mussolinington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, is this the new J0hn Cen@-style thread?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Hang on, as the only 45 year old man here, and I could be called burly, Dan is obviously getting at me! I think I could not pass for Kirsten Dunst.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:24 (twenty-one years ago)

But DID YOU TRY TO CALL THE NUMBER???

BUSTED (Dan Perry), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:26 (twenty-one years ago)

haha if i thought kirsten dunst had half a chance in hell of reading it, i would totally post my real phone number

benito mussolinington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

OMG I watched Kiki's Delivery Service the other day, and about halfway through I realized that Kiki is voiced by Kirsten Dunst, whose nickname amongst family/friends/etc. is - wait for it - motherfucking KIKI. A winner is me!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Does Kirsten Dunst have a deepish male voice with a Bristol accent when she isn't on screen?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 28 June 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Witherspoon is going to have to do some great things to get back to her Freeway/Cruel Intentions/Election heyday. She's gone the Kate Hudson route, but with a more prominent chin.

Natalie Portman is making a serious run at Dunst, though. She is incredibly hott in this month's Interview.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 28 June 2004 23:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish Kirsten an Reese would mate and have a baby. Then I'd marry the baby.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Monday, 28 June 2004 23:24 (twenty-one years ago)

The baby could be male.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 28 June 2004 23:40 (twenty-one years ago)

ZING!

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 28 June 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned: 1
latebloomer: 0

martin m. (mushrush), Monday, 28 June 2004 23:42 (twenty-one years ago)

teeth my friends

amateur!st (amateurist), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 00:18 (twenty-one years ago)

jess, i kiss you*

*but maybe first brush your teeth

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Kirsten Dunst just mentioned my high school pal Betsey Peyton on David Letterman!!! She bought one of her paintings. That was cool, so I pick her.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you choo-choo chooose her?

TheRealJMod (TheRealJMod), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Kirsten is cute. I loved Bring It On. If I had to pick between Bring It On and Freeway though, hmmmm.....

(Ralph Wiggins references always makes me smile.)

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The baby could be male.
-- Ned Raggett (ne...), June 29th, 2004

So?

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 03:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean the concept I brought up of them biologically mating is inherently rediculous anyhow. (at least until they come up with a technology that allows same-sex partners to mate).

but if it's a good-lookin male, hell, why not?

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Good on yer.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 04:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I totally "got" 'mmm dunst grah wow' in Eternal Sunshine, for the first time, like, ever. (but omg you are all still mad, reese has the most amazing nose in the history of ever, she is total marriage list #1, grah).

Gregory Henry (Gregory Henry), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)

what does "future mrs. number 5" at the top of the thread mean?? was she dating the robot from shortcircuit in 2001 or something??

dave k, Tuesday, 29 June 2004 04:51 (twenty-one years ago)

But how could the baby be male? There are no Y chromosomes, the baby spawned between two women would have to be female.

Davel (Davel), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 06:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought the two were the same people.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 06:48 (twenty-one years ago)

No, that's Drew Barrymore and Alicia Silverstone.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 29 June 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)
