the guy who was inside the Supermatch (Supermatch game, supermatch game) was called Eugene in the Wogan era and Eamonnn when Les took over. Don't know who (ahem) worked it for Lily.

Wogan: I never impress the girls as party because i've only got a tiny >BLANK<

Contestant: cock?

Wogan had that long microphone though, that Kenny Everett used to bend. Seem to remember it being endowed with tinsel for the Christmas edition. First series had READY signs on sticks for the panel to use...much better than pressing buttons to light lights.

it were too random for me, though not as random as Ted Rodgers and 3- 2-1. no wonder my childhood felt like it was spent under the influence.

3-2-1 was the Hanle y of game shows.

Lorraine Chase was on it a lot in the early days. Wogan would say "you can choose any three of our studio guests to help you..." Don't think anyone ever chose poor Lorraine.

Blankety Blank: I do have fond memories of Kenny Everett bending Wogan's microphone, but I think if I'm being sensible Les Dawson was much better.

3-2-1: made me think I was stupid as a child. Had catastrophic effects on my self-esteem. Wasn't till years later that I found out no one else could make head nor tail of the clues either. Mind you, they could all do the Ted Rodgers fingers thing, a skill that still eludes me.

Blanety Blank: the Les Dawson years = one of the best comedy shows on Brit TV.
Pre-dated Shooting Stars and was it's better.

As a kid, I really loved Blankety Blank presented by Les Dawson...it used to come at 7.30 on a Friday before Dynasty (I think). Blankety blank cheque book and pen, cheque book and pen. I also have fond memories of always eating chocolate when it was on. It was great!
