"pizdets" & "huinya" appear pretty insane (russian) words
if one considers 1)their grammatical gender 2)the nouns from which they are derived 3)the meanings of the derived words.

(and if this here post doesn't lure any lurking russians out of the ilxor bush then there obviously are none there...)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Sunday, 2 May 2004 21:38 (twenty-one years ago)

CAss (CAss), Sunday, 2 May 2004 22:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Väkivalta-verkkarit
Finnish expression of the-pants-that-criminals-wear. (Or so I've been told; I am not from Finland. It is supposedly put together by the words
Verkkarit = soft (teddy-like) pants.
Väkivalta = violence.)

Could any from Finland please confirm or deny if this is true? I find it truly amusing.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound unwelcoming of CAss. I think she's a noble person. I was merely on a quest for information.

"Verkkarit" = trainer pants. "Väkivalta" does indeed translate to "violence", but there's no such expression as "väkivaltaverkkarit", as fun as it sounds. Where'd you hear it?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 3 May 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

but there's no such expression as "väkivaltaverkkarit", as fun as it sounds. Where'd you hear it?

Ah, dang. It might be just another urban legend swimming around in Sweden, then. I heard it at a Swedish mailing list. I'm gonna try to trace this backwards...

TBA (TBA), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah, I didn't notice you were from Sweden. "Väkivaltaverkkarit" kinda fits the stereotype of Finns being both violent (which isn't true) and awful dressers (which is closer to the truth). Do you have any more urban legends about Finns floating around in Sweden, I'd love to hear them.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, some stereotypical thoughts about Finns:
* Finns fight alot, and often use knives when doing so.
* They drink enormously much. (This is true for people from the north of Sweden as well.)
* They are very quiet/shy.

In the eyes of Finns, Swedish men (pretty much all of them) are gay, right?

TBA (TBA), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, and finally found out where that stereotype (more of a joke than a stereotype, no one really thinks so) comes from. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sweden legalized homosexuality a lot earlier than Finland (it happened in 1971 here), and some Finnish gay folks actually moved to Sweden because of this. But this also got Sweden a reputation of being a "gay country", and when the Finnish gay began to gain a wider publicity in the 1960s, some tabloids even called homosexuality "The Swedish Disease". The joke about Swedish men being gay still exists, even though it's origin is mostly forgotten.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

that's funny. maybe they legalised stupidity in ireland, earlier than they did, here.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

rather than taint or chod i prefer "maple log"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, the expression seems to be known by Finns. My source had it explained from a Finn living in Sweden.

TBA (TBA), Monday, 3 May 2004 13:55 (twenty-one years ago)

lol leefuse. obvioulsly were thinking of a different word.... aaah its actually bothering you? loser
-- CAss

Obvioulsly (sic) you don't realize that calling leee a loser isn't going to make you look cool since most of us like leee and could give two shits about you.

Yes, you are sad.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 22:38 (twenty-one years ago)

CAss will you marry me?

deanomgwtf!!!p%3Fmsgid%3D4581997 (deangulberry), Wednesday, 5 May 2004 22:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a look at CAss's user page where she says she "hates BUSH". i was upset when i realised this was the president and not the pop group.

it would be odd i suppose to let one's hatred of Bush (the pop group) define was personality that much...
