Air Supply was more about femininity , Foreigner more about Rock n Roll pussy. You can't really compare them.

Theyre Australian too, arent they?

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Taking Sides: Foreigner or Air Supply?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 3 May 2004 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Or were, rather. I'm pretty sure theyre not around anymore (unless they're rotting away in an RSL in Cranbourne or something)

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 May 2004 06:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 3 May 2004 06:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Do they still hold the record for the most top ten singles in a row in American chart history (I think)?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Monday, 3 May 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

i think they might be permanently on the Indonesian tour circuit where they are still SUPASTARS!

mullygrubber (gaz), Monday, 3 May 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...

Air Supply played in my little town this weekend. I didn't want to go but my brother had gotten two free tickets and my wife wanted to see them - apparently they are huge in Mexico and her Dad played them so much that she wound up learning quite a bit of English from them. Plus, the tickets were great (maybe 10 feet from the stage). After the intermission they both came out into the crowd. All these women - mostly in their 40's and 50's, were screaming their asses off as these two gray-haired men made their way up and down the aisles. Every song turned into "let's hear you!" and the crowd ate it up. They definitely have a ton of fans, even now.

Strangest moment of the show for me - I'm wearing my Packer jersey, and during some song where the tall, Ryan Stiles lookalike was singing, the short guy was just looking at us in the crowd, and he sees my jersey, and then belts me. I managed to belt him back before he looked away, but what a weird moment. I later found out these guys are from Australia. WTF!?

Every once in a while I have to listen to "All Out of Love" ten times in a row.

"belt" as in hit you with his fist??

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Monday, 26 September 2011 14:23 (fourteen years ago)

You punched the little guy from Air Supply?

some lady (La Lechera), Monday, 26 September 2011 14:24 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah wait a minute here.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

"Making hate out of nothing at all"

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:26 (fourteen years ago)

You know you can't fool me
Hated the Packers fans so long...

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:27 (fourteen years ago)

"I'm All Out of Love (So I Will Punch You in the Face)"

some lady (La Lechera), Monday, 26 September 2011 14:27 (fourteen years ago)

So the little guy from Air Supply thrust his groin at you.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:31 (fourteen years ago)

^^^^

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:31 (fourteen years ago)

that's awesome

"Thrustin' Groin (And I Don't Know Much)"

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

You basically had an audience of 40 to 50 year old women wishing they were you. One brief shining moment, as the thrustee.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:32 (fourteen years ago)

And then you thrusted back.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:33 (fourteen years ago)

sweet

Trip Maker, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:34 (fourteen years ago)

I don't think it was just a groin thrust. He clearly pointed at my jersey (which is #12) and then did it. And it did get all these women to look back at me and smile. "Can you believe what he did to you!?"

frogbs, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:38 (fourteen years ago)

These guys aren't gay, are they? They kissed each other on the mouth in-between songs.

frogbs, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:38 (fourteen years ago)

It took their courage for you to realize.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:39 (fourteen years ago)

Anyway I'd like to return to the image of 'little guy in Air Supply goes GG Allin for his adoring fans'

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:45 (fourteen years ago)

yeah I liked this way better when the Air Supply dwarf was railing on helpless Packers fan frogbs

frogbs, Monday, 26 September 2011 17:13 (fourteen years ago)
