Working Bank Holidays - Dud

Not fair. Up at six thirty and in work for seven - on a bank holiday. The roads were all dead, my local shop was closed, and there are four other people in my work. The canteen is closed (although we were told that it would be open for our Bank Holiday Delectasion) so we've got sod all for lunch.

Where is the May Pole? Where are the Morris Dancers? Why does nobody consider us rejects?

my hang ups about needing to shave, shower etc before work make this impossible.

I'm an out of bed, dressed, in the car and in work kind of person. I end up sitting at my desk with blurry eyes trying to remember what item of clothing I've forgotten to put on.

Heh I do that. I sometimes walk to the tram and wonder if I'm actually wearing shoes/pants/whatever.

I've worked many a BH, RP, I feel yr pain. A cpl of years ago I had to work New Year's Day in a rec shop on Oxford St. after partying all night - 8 hours of stark staring HELL. The worst thing, of course, is the fact that all yr nine-to-five friends are out having picnics and whatnot (not today tho, he said looking out of his window...)
