you do realise he's blind dear...

carsmilesteve, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i really, really shouldn't be laughing at this...(fatnick, not the blind, for godsakes.)

jess, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I read a thing by Alexi Sayle a while ago and he was saying that ages ago, he did a charity gig in Sheffield and David Blunkett was there (I think this was before he became an MP). Apparantly, Alexi Sayle's wife said to him after that she didn't really trust Blunkett because he had "shifty eyes"

jamesmichaelward, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Fat Nick has a point. He should replace them with something more interesting, like Disco.

Graham, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I R meaning u R having no use for them, so could put them to more interesting use. or wear "cool dude" shades.

I R not stupid!, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"put them to a more interesting use"? Like what?

rainy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw a kid in a Wendy's one night, who was wearing bright yellow snake pupil shaped contact lenses. Not very normal looking.

Kim, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Cufflinks, maybe? There's got to be something.

Graham, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Who is David Blunkett? He should get reflector sunglasses that wrap around his head. Or sunglasses like those the man on startrek deep space or whatever wears, really narrow and dirty.

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh for fuck's sake Nick!

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What Chris said. This is getting really, really boring.

Andrew Williams, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Thirded.

Tom, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I R wanting to tear off FatNick's arms.

Nick, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll help.

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That's not very nice. He only wants to make people laugh.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Isn't that what DoomPatrol used to say?

Andrew Williams, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So did Hitler! oh hang on, that's not right, is it.

Nick, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

he's failing, dismally.

Nick, I think you're thinking of Mussolini?

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I R saying come and have a go if you R thinking U R hard enuff! I R using Strokes and B&S fans as toothpicks!

I R livid!, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, whatever

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't believe FatNick can irritate so. I still wouldn't pick a fight with him, though.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've met him, he's not so big.

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Heh, size has nothing to do with it.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What, does he have magical powers then? Cos he's certainly got a sense of humour that would appeal to kids who like Harry Potter.

"Har har - that there blind man got funny eyes!!"

What a twat.

Andrew Williams, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Err - I may be a big fat hypocrite for saying this, but let's not get too nasty here..

Nick, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Dude, calm down, he was only being cheeky.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, the only sane and of-the-moment answer that doesn't chide FatNick for bad taste is that Blunkett uses des yeux to watch Brasseye specials. D'oh.

suzy, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think this thread goes nicely with the 'political correctness' thread, don't you? hee hee!

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm sorry but my irritatedness had nothing to do with political correctness, it was more to do with inanity.

chris, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay, point taken. Sorry for any offence caused. I do have a sense of humour you know - I just don't suffer fools gladly.

Andrew Williams, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I suppose what annoys me the most is that our pal Nicky boy never engages in any actual discussion, which is surely what this little set up is all about. All he does is act daft.

Andrew Williams, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No, Anthony's right I think.

Tom, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Andrew rather.

Tom, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Alright, alright, I'll have a word with him.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is Nick any worse than anybody else though? I mean, Jesus, there's been 10,000 threads about comics and TV sitcoms, and people think Nick is lowering the tone?

dave q, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I R sorry for being distasteful! i r sorry for for making slightly politically incorrect comments about the man who R making my life a misery (introducing A.S. levels, hmmm) i r sorry for lowering tone of board wot are having questions like 'Wot R being the most unacceptable thing to come out of yr ass?'

If u are wanting to know why DG r suggesting not fighting me, i R thinking we shall be stepping outside next time we meet...

I R sooooooo sorry!, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, I did try, but I fear old Fattie and DQ have a point.

DG, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

At work I was once handed a letter with the worstsignature ever>I drew everyone's attention to it>the word ^shit^ was involved and the staffroom went silent>yes>DB's signature

, Friday, 2 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I got told off by th NUS for suggesting that the letter they wrote to Dave Blunkett should be in braille - so frankly peoples idea of what is and isn't insensitive when talking about disability is frankly bemusing. Its odd that this question has caused offence - looking at the general spin-doctoring of the Labout party and makeovers which come with it I am pretty damn sure this subject has been broached at Millbank.

Pete, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

seven years pass...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/apr/28/blunkett-id-cards

lol headline was 'blunkett says scrap ID cards'

... which would have been a turn-up considering he's a shill for an ID-card-making company (or something).

but of course, the headline isn't quiiiiite the whole story.

FREE DOM AND ETHAN (special guest stars mark bronson), Tuesday, 28 April 2009 15:42 (sixteen years ago)

HAHA! I r the WINNOR!

But where are the interesting posters having gone? I R thinking it's all getting a bit dull around here.

I R Roger Bacon, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 16:58 (sixteen years ago)

The origin of lolcatspeak?!

StanM, Tuesday, 28 April 2009 20:21 (sixteen years ago)

some other labour minister was suggesting they scrap ID cards last week, right?

advantage of doing it via compulsory passports = at least you can use them to leave
