Two new films about hooliganism. Impeccable timing.

At least it explains a rather surreal moment on Saturday as Elijah Wood was paraded onto the pitch at Upton Park, "Ladies & Gentleman, give it up for Frodo Baggins!" He then declared himself a West Ham fan. Right.

The Yank, an American film in which, somewhat implausibly, Elijah Wood plays a student expelled from Harvard who takes up with West Ham's notorious Inter City Firm

This sounds like the worst film ever.

Rewrite it thusly:

The Crank, an American film in which, not entirely implausibly, Dan Perry plays a student graduated from Harvard who takes up with London's notorious ILX Firm

who has the late gavin hills' semi-legendary review of 'I.D.' to hand?
because that's what we all need to read right now.

John King, author of The Football Factory, is the stock base for a warm, steamy bowl of cunt soup.

Oh and I think the review is in Gavin's book.

I fucking hate hoolie-porn; middle class wankshafts jerking off about tasty geezohs.

I can't believe no one thinks that the idea of Elijah Wood as a football hooligan is the most hilarious thing ever.

I like the scene in 'ID' where he pours coke on his cornflakes

I can't believe no one thinks that the idea of Elijah Wood as a football hooligan is the most hilarious thing ever.

I thought that was taken as read!

Besides, the most hilarious thing he was ever in was that remake of The Bad Seed -- starring Macaulay Culkin!

Noooo. Trust me. I tried watching that one night on cable, and it was just tediously bad instead of hilariously bad.

I was betrayed by the ad I stumbled across on an old videotape! It promised high camp.
