Let's talk about cyber baby, let's talk about you and me, let's talk about all the good things and the bad things that may mean, let's talk aboooout cyber...

Is this the refuge of the desperate, or is there something deeper and more fulfilling to it than I am giving it credit for? Is it the sexual instant gratification of the postgeographic era? Will cybering, with technological innovation, fill a role in human existence usually reserved for p0rn0graphy, pr0stitution, or cheap romance novels? Has it already? All these questions and more, answered tonight on FOXMSNBCNNewsline (aka ILX)!

If you wish to discuss cybering anonymously, feel free to log out and have us guess mercilessly and innacurately at your identity.

HAVE AT IT.

Cybering seems nothing more than ridiculous to me, and I'm constantly amazed to find mature, respectable individuals partaking in it's smutty excess. But I'm also an idiot and an asshole, so...

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I've done it a few times. Most times I'm not really into it but have fun getting the other person going.

They're probably thinking the same thing.

cybering is the one of the most pathetic / pety things in the world. its only for losers

CAss (CAss), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Cyber appeals to the imagination. When it's done well -- ie, not "suk my dik" "ok lol" -- it can be very hot. Do those of you who dislike cyber also dislike erotica? (If not, what do you think the difference is?) It's a corny saying that the largest sex organ in the body is the brain, but I believe it.

Prude (Prude), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:07 (twenty-one years ago)

since my baby doll lives across the planet, her and have attempted this a few times.
usually we get too wound up and one of us will call the other.

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i was going to post at length about this but even logged out, it makes me feel uncomfortable. anyway, suffice it to say, i've done this many times. there are tremendous advantages to it, especially if you like constructing and manipulating scenarios and using your imagination. there are also tremendous downsides to it, especially the degree to which it encourages an incredibly selfish approach to sex (when you're done you just close the IM box).

loggy mclogout, Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes I would compare it erotica so I suppose being word-y I enjoy stimulating my cyber-partners this way.

They're probably thinking the same thing.

Without being graphic, I can assure you no. There's always a finite point to these experiences.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

be graphic - plz¡

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd rather not. use your imagination as to what a guy stands to gain from such an experience.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

self confidence¿

dyson (dyson), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:36 (twenty-one years ago)

dyson, why are your question marks always upside-down?

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

He lives in the Southern Hemisphere.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

When did Canada migrate south? =)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway. To anyone who has said cyber is ridiculous or pathetic, I would ask this - ever had phone sex? Even if not, it seems reasonably acceptable to most, when in distance situations, yah? You know, partner away for a week, or whatever.

There's not a lot of difference btwn phone and net sex, but the key is imagination and taking it seriously as Prude points out. 14 year old boys on IRC going "ASL wanna cyber lol wtf omg tittehs" IS NOT CYBER, its kids pissing about.

No details here, I'll just say I know it can be interesting.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

(the key is brain sex. Obv it is no substitute for real nookie, but needs must and all that)

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 22:12 (twenty-one years ago)

When did Canada migrate south? =)

Who can tell what's up and what's down with those liberal, gay-loving cowardly duty-shirking commies?
