Insurance company in New Zealand

I have a colleague who has been treated very badly by her insurance company after having her home and possessions destroyed in recent floods.

She believes that they have been discriminated against because people involved in the case have a personal bias against her partner, who works as a consultant and was fired by that company a few weeks beforehand.

Reports about the state of the building requested from the District Council have been completed, signed off and ... not released. The reports show that the Council was in error when it issued building consent, assuming timber to be treated when it wasn't. The manager who made halted the release is someone else that her partner has dealt with in the past.

The Insurance Ombudsman doesn't deal with cases worth more than $100000 (why?)

The Insurance Council doesn't get involved in commercially sensitive cases (why?)

We were thinking about putting together a letter to give people a bit of information about what happened, and if they like, they can sign it and post to the insurance company to say they're withdrawing their business and why.

Can anyone who would be interested post an address here please?

In summary, you know that ad on the tv? the one where the two insurance guys are oggling the woman and drive into another car? they aren't actors.
