Computer Meltdown Virus: WTF?

In the past 3 hours today, my comp has shut down and restarted (on its own) 10 times. Though CNN swears tis a "worldwide problem" that began from Saturday, I'm tempted to say "well-paid corporate hacking job".

(Before you ask, this comp is public, which is why I just noticed it today.)

So:

1) Has this happened to anyone else?
2) Is there a patch to fix the damn thing?

Conspiracy theorists, on your mark......

Who the fuck uses Windows?

TOMBOT, Thursday, 6 May 2004 04:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to use Windows because Linux won't pick up my Motorola modem.

I use Linux at work though, and I never get any of these plebeian viruses. Viruses are for poor people.

Run a firewall and proper email software and this shit never happens. I just sat back and watched all the hits to the port being blocked and larfed. And I use windows.

I wouldn't know a firewall if it leapt up and hit me in the face. Much easier to use Linux and pretend I know what I'm talking about.
