I sure don't. What's up with that? Were all donors shrivled old folks?

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

or, am I a tubby fukhut?

Mike Hanle y, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You are on a posting frenzy aren't you? well I am clawing my way up the statscock so I have a good reason for my verbosity.

I often find clothes I fit in Salvation army and thrift stores, but only among the mens section. Once I get a pair of trousers with a waist the right size they are generally a good length because I am short and old men like to wear their trousers to show off their ankles and shoes. I seem to find a lot of good coats and shirts as well, again among the mens section. So there is an advantage to being short.

I'd say all the donors were shrivelled up old folks, you're right there though. Just try finding anything that is remotely modern

Even though I am a tubby fukhut I dont have trouble. damn I like that phrase.

Menelaus Darcy, Tuesday, 30 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ithink people were shorter and thinner in the past. There's hardly anything that fits me. I don't consider myself fat just tall and broad. Its the tyranny of winters of discontent, stagflation, thatcher and reagan continued

i once got this jacket form theree that had terrible BO but I thought it was my freind and I was thinking " God, Matt smells1". later he was exhonerated when I discovered teh real source of the smell

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I find it really difficult to get trousers that fit. Normally they're either mid-calf length or else you could fit two of me in them. The only jackets that ever fit me are nearly always ladies' jackets.

The other week though, I got a black, three piece suit which fitted just right for £8. "Yes!" I thought to myself, "Someone exactly the same shape as me must have died in Worcester Park!"

jamesmichaelward, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i had a friend who would only wear dead ppls clothes...or maybei read that in a book. it's all blurring these days.

Geoff, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I fit because I am (coughchokehowawful) petite.

Maria, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

something i find in an op-shop is more likely to fit me properly than something in a fashion store. fashion store clothes have wierd standardised proportions which deny the variability of the human body. i find that in op-shops, there is much more leeway between small, medium sized and large clothing.

di, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But in shops once you have tried things on you know what size to look for in that store foreverafter, instead of having to try every single thing on because you never know how that brand will fit. Unless, that is, the shop has "slim fit" and "curvy fit" and "city fit" and "subterranean fit" jeans that are utterly senseless and only made so that people can buy whatever size helps their egoss.

Maria, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i have never found anything in a fashion store that fit me perfectly, its always a case of having to alter stuff and who can be bothered. besides, fashion store clothing just ain't my thing anyway. i'd rather not wear what 90% of people are wearing, and pay through the nose for it.

di, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i buy children's xl stuff and it fits fine.

ethan, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what are you, a munchkin?

jess, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can too, but I'm a girl. Still, I will defend Ethan to the death.

Maria, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the giant jess-sized people of the world make me feel like a whimsical pixie of some sort.

ethan, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Kim Deal or Black Francis? ;-)

I'm too tall for lots of vintage things, people used to be so short.

Nicole, Wednesday, 31 October 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, vintage clothes are weird because A) they are short, like Nicole said B) the sizes are all completely different so you have to go thru it and really think about it. Argh.

Ally, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ethan's just hella emo.

Kris, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Everything fits me. My Halloween costume included my (female) ex- roommate's jeans. Hot!

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I can never find anything that I like. I dislike shopping for clothes, but set me loose in a furniture store... my my! Watch out!! :) I can't picture what suits me or doesn't. Yet, someones hand-me -downs do the trick. Gale

Gale Deslongchamps, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ethan's just hella emo.

Brian MacDonald, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

di, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

There is a salvation army fortress just down the road from my flat. Obviously created by the militant wing

Menelaus Darcy, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

anthony, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

katie, Thursday, 1 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

They fit me, plus they got 8 Track tapes, its all good.

Mr Noodles, Friday, 2 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Why would you want 8 track tapes?

Nick, Saturday, 3 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

needless to say, jess doesn't fit into most sal army clothes. he did when his physique was closer to jack skellington than gentle ben.

jess, Saturday, 3 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one month passes...
no im six foot six and i have a size eighteen shoe i dont fit into much of anything. I like the emo style so i just take my dads old clothes there pretty old from the 70's and they fit because my dads taller than me.

coyote, Friday, 14 December 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oooh yay, a chance for me to talk about op-shopping again. i went to south dunedin last week and boy did i find some treats! (which fit perfectly). a powder blue short sleeved crimplene dress with matching knee length coat; a long sleeved crimplene dress, top half blue diamonds on white, bottom half white diamonds on blue; and a lemon short sleeved crimplene dress with decorative buttons. today i revived my mary jane shoes to wear with it, even though they need new soles.
