questions: should a bigger club step in for him? does okocha thrive at a small club, where he is the captain and the focus and has a lot of freedom?

Somewhere between c and d until Celtic buy him and he becomes c

Classic! (although I have a slight bias). I'm not sure you can call Bolton a small club anymore. 7th in the league! Woo!

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 6 May 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, Bolton are a big club now

the stevemfox (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

ok sorry. medium-sized!

Very much a sideshow to the real attraction at The Reebok.

I like Bolton. Sam Allerdyce is a clever guy, and their transfer policy and signing policy is spot on, for the modern game in the premiership.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

So, which world class but out-of-favour footballer is Big Sam going to sign next? My money's on Lizarazu.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

(Oh, classic, by the way)

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

did rivaldo fall through? i haven't been paying attention...

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Bolton have some players, Okocha, Kevin Nolan, Ivan Campo.

Hmm, that joke only works aloud.

Okocha, classic. The ILX anti-fanny dangle brigade probably tut when he plays.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

whither Djorkaeff?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 6 May 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Didn't he score the other day?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Rivaldo followed through.

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

eh?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I would have said Djorkaeff if I could have remembered how to spell him. Nolan was easier.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Thursday, 6 May 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Good call

I love watching Jay Jay, and am mystified that he seems set to go a whoe season without a goal. I think Sam has done a fabulous job at Bolton, and wished they had won the League Cup (sorry Cis!).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)
