roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I think you shouldn't deny your passions.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 May 2004 02:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Melissa Joan Hart.

kirsten (kirsten), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, whats this google log? Hows it work?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:05 (twenty-one years ago)

It's the Internet Explorer autocomplete feature.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Has the Google/ILx search stopped working for anyone else? It was fine until a couple of days ago, now it won't return any results for anything.

Autumn Almanac (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:14 (twenty-one years ago)

He appreaciates all that life has to offer: computers, insurance, prepubescent television stars, second wave ska, grafitti and hot, naked Golden Girls.

C0L1N B3CK3TT (Colin Beckett), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

He totally picked the wrong Golden Girl to search.

Scott CE (Scott CE), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait just one moment -- "Golden Girls" porn? You have to be kidding me.

Those Beautiful Lines (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Totally kidding. Apparently someone just needed a pic of Blanche Devereaux that bad.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, it was me searching almost all of those (including Melissa Joan Hart), minus the Blanche and the hard drive crap. And "tricky to rock a rhyme," 'cause I already know everything there is to know about that, natch.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, ok. Good. I wasn't going to wonder unless you had actually been seeking out "Golden Girls" porn, which I dearly hope doesn't exist, actually.

Those Beautiful Lines (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:29 (twenty-one years ago)

*quickly aborts mission re: emailing Sophia Petrillo/Rose Nyland lez-up mpeg to Trayce

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

"caviar windows driver" is what exactly?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Woops, not Trayce, but Those Beautiful Lines!!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know, Alex, but it sounds both sophisticated and delicious.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha. I thought maybe you were insinuating some sort of freakysneaky trade-off plan type thing with Our Favorite Flame-Haired Australian. (Just FYI, it's still just Dee.)

"Caviar Windows driver" = perhaps this super-expensive gold-plated hardware thingy that gets shipped to you with dry ice and packed with some high-quality roe?

Those Beautiful Lines (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I would think high quality fish eggs would fuck up the circuitry, but I am no Bill Gates.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:39 (twenty-one years ago)

A google later sez that it's a line of hard drives.

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:42 (twenty-one years ago)

(xp)

Oh well. If you've got that kind of money, what's a couple of destroyed pieces of hardware?

(Really, though, my crazy mental picture thingy envisioned the little black pearls enclosed in some tin-like container.)

Aw, Leee, ruin all the fun why don't you? ;)

Those Beautiful Lines (Dee the Lurker), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:44 (twenty-one years ago)

It's the Internet Explorer autocomplete feature.

Thats just an IE thing, it doesnt sound much like a "scrollable google log" to me though.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Hm. Perhaps it's not exclusive to google...that's all I've noticed it doing that on, though.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahah that's twice I've mistaken the autocomplete for the google log!

Leeefuse 73 (Leee), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:50 (twenty-one years ago)

But Roxy, whats it actually doing? From what Lee said, I see that if I start typing www.google.... etc into my URL bar in IE a big list of previous searches shows up in the auto suggestions. But nothing actually on the Google page itself, which was the impression I got that you're seeing. Now I'm just really confused :(

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:53 (twenty-one years ago)

No, no...it's when i start typing into the google bar.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 03:58 (twenty-one years ago)

shouldn't that be "lIEder" (not "lEIder")?

deutscherbär (llamasfur), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I found that out.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Friday, 7 May 2004 04:15 (twenty-one years ago)

"tricky to rock a rhyme" + "streets discography" made the most sense

ken c (ken c), Friday, 7 May 2004 07:11 (twenty-one years ago)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Monday, 30 May 2005 02:52 (twenty years ago)

the major pre-google search sites (yahoo, excite, altavista, etc.) used to have "search voyeur" pages where you could see what other people were searching for. it could be very entertaining in a "wtf?" kinda way. the only one i can find at present is this at this one dodgy search site: http://www.galaxy.com/info/voyeur.html

The more modern equivalent of that is: some P2P file-sharing clients let you see what search requests your client has received. Porn searches, mostly.

caitlin (caitlin), Monday, 30 May 2005 07:09 (twenty years ago)

Haha 2 of my last searches were for "chickpea pumpkin curry" and err.. "bangbus".

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 30 May 2005 10:18 (twenty years ago)

Please tell us the story behind your second search term.
