dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

black orchhid and it'd also be as trip club

allyzay, Friday, 7 May 2004 09:33 (twenty-two years ago)

The way bar names are going, I'd call mine

"Nip nip nip nip nip nip harangue"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate all those trendy bar names, like the "Slug and Buffalo" or whatever. I'd probably call mine something incredibly dull like "The Pub".

C J (C J), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:38 (twenty-two years ago)

(actually, that's one too many nips. But what the heck, leave it like that)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:39 (twenty-two years ago)

You can never have too many nips.

C J (C J), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Oooh, what a lovely question! I've got to think about this.

Probably VIRGINIA WOOLFE'S BURGER BAR!!!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

The Ritzy, or Raffles.

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Nip's a beautiful word. are using it to mean "kiss" CJ?

XXPost

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought it meant a glass of hooch, i.e. a nip of Scotch.

Kisses sound nicer, though.

C J (C J), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Wull you nip ma pal Robbie?

Rumpy Pumpkin (rumpypumpkin), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Certainly, Rumpy

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:47 (twenty-two years ago)

When I was at school i didn't really notice just how cute and twee 'nip' is. kinda somes up glasgow's twee/hard dichotomy.

i'm really tired today. articulacy is over.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you going down the Firken pub?

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, I just realised it's an excellent name. (xpost)

And now I've posted it here, I have the copyright. (see FAQ page)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

i wish scotland had more "this and that" pubs. i can only think of the crown and crichton. i've been told many fun car games can be played with pubs of this sort.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Hotel California

Barima (Barima), Friday, 7 May 2004 09:56 (twenty-two years ago)

i like Phoenix as a motif, but only for a pub not a bar. i'd have to call my bar something wanky like Arcade, but then the temptation would be too great to not put an arcade in it - but this would be alright as booze and Dance Dance Revolution really need to get together on a more regular basis

stevem (blueski), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a Phoenix in my home town.

dog latin (dog latin), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Glasgow's only non-smoking pub is, hilariously*, called phoenix.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:04 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm tempted to go and burn it down, just to be ironic.

C J (C J), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Great Head

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Friday, 7 May 2004 10:05 (twenty-two years ago)

On some website where people created their own slave nations someone called theirs empire of the sun egg. I quite like that. Signiture cocktail, the tragic slut. Barman, do you serve tragic sluts in this establishment?

Huey (Huey), Friday, 7 May 2004 11:37 (twenty-two years ago)

The Dread Lion would serve Rasta Pasta.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 7 May 2004 11:55 (twenty-two years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 7 May 2004 12:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i always wanted to find a 'real ale' type beverage called "Your Piss".

'Landlord, a pint of Your Piss, please. in a straight glass, mind.'

g-kit (g-kit), Friday, 7 May 2004 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)
