I thought the comment he made insinuating America was 'different' than the rest of the globe because we "apologized" for our treatment of the prisoners and the terrorists who killed 3000 americans, and other terrorists who have killed Americans, did not, was completely silly.

What a level playing field--a government, especially one with as much influence as America, which is supposed to act ethically and accordingly, with the agreements it has signed, and in a civilized manner, and a group of assassins and terrorists. (although the latter word usually depends on the perspective)

I found it sort of arrogant, especially considering this "apology" would probably not have come to fruition had Rumsfeld and co. not been caught with their pants down.

What makes us different is that we can do whatever we want and apologize (maybe) later, when pressured to. Terrorists, even though they're wrong, don't take what they do so lightly.

I think that's very well said, dave.

Yep, saw it, had the exact same thoughts as you, uh. Lieberman is such a feeb. How in earth did this guy ever delude himself that he could be president? He makes my skin crawl.

Broheems (diamond), Friday, 7 May 2004 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I hate to admit it, but the first thing that came into my mind when he said that the people who killed 3,000 americans on 9/11 didn't apologize was my usual smartassed thought-process:

They couldn't apologize because they were dead :)

Lieberman is a gigantic tool. Picking him as VP probably clinched Gore's loss. *cue "Bush stole the election WTF??????" mantra*

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 7 May 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

but Broheems he had something none of the other candidates could claim: Joe-mentum!

I swear to God "Joe-mentum" is like my favorite thing uttered by any politican ever

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Friday, 7 May 2004 16:38 (twenty-one years ago)

there's an ultra liberal I've chatted with on the net that insists Lieberman is the ultimate choice for the next President. An ultra liberal, who believes belief in gay rights, believes that the same guy who once shook hands with Jesse Helms agreeing to cut funding for schools that adopted the position that homosexuality was ok, is the best candidate for President.

I'm surprised Lieberman hasn't attempted to invade the music world too.

"Oh, that new band is total Liebercore, man".

"They're kind of Joemo"

"They're Liebster rappers"

J0hn, you're making my head hurt. Argh.

Mine too. Please tell me you were only joking.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 7 May 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

no one called him out that Iraq or its people had nothing to do with 9/11. He's still pretending there is a connection. Complete misdirection.
