So, er, I'm going to Queeruption in Amsterdam at the start of June. All I know about it is a really cool fanzine I got last year, and various stuff on the web.

What was it about

The purpose of queeruption is to come together as queers of all sexualities to explore, celebrate, enjoy, learn, communicate, network, create.

Aims

To find an alternative, both political and artistic/creative, to what we are supposed to see as a symbol of our "liberation" and to go beyond the narrow and restricting idea of the "gay" scene, world or subculture with its obsession with consumption and lack of radical politics.

I was surprised to find zero mentions of 'queeruption' when I searched ILx.

Has anyone been? Going? Should I run away and hide?

What appeals to you about this? I haven't looked at the website, I'll admit, but what you posted sounds boring (to me, at least).

Er, yeah. I just read it and it does sound a little boring.

Other stuff I've read is a lot more interesting though, and I hope there'll be a lot of interesting people there.

I admit, I'm intrigued by the "sexo-poetry and bizarre magic". That itinerary is the funniest thing I've read in ages. I'm not sure it'd be quite my cup of tea...

Bad news! That's the line-up for the first one years ago, don't know what's happening at the one I'm going to.
