What the hell has been happening?

Hello kids.

I've been away for 8 days gigging and such, and haven't seen ILX in that time save for half an hour or so. So what's the gossip? What's them there good threads and what's them there bad ones? Have the "Kayne" googlers got the message? Has Ned gone disco? GIMME DA NEWZ!

I did note with interest that the aj*/d*nt) board had had all its threads removed in my breif half hour and read in passing that her dad appeared. Please provide full details of how the pervy little shit got his comeuppance.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

uhhh... pimp my ride?

chrisco (chrisco), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned's gone Disco Inferno, but we knew that.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, it seems Callum is still doing those stupid TS threads on ILM.

The BLONDES fight it out!

Well, not really.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and if you're taking out all the vowels from dante's and my name, it should read *j*/d*nt*

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I was up in Scotland Thurs/Fri and was almost hoping I bumped into the silly little child so I could do horrible things to him whilst screaming "YOUR ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES, FUCKBANK, NOW GO AND JUMP OFF A CLIFF WE NEED THE AIR!" or some other substance-enhanced drollery.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds like you had fun.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned's gone Disco Inferno, but we knew that.

Woo!

Lynskey, your impulse re: the puppy was wise and good.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Isn't the puppy in Aberdeen? We were originally going to be playing up there but that one fell through and we played at Dundee Abertay Uni instead. That was an utterly awesome night - really friendly people, other bands were good, bar was very cheap (one pound a bottle of Perroni? I THINK SO!).

The wierdest of the week was the gig at Lucid in Manchester. The place is enormous. 9 bars, 4 lane bowling alley, valeted toilets. Drinking free champagne in the VIP section was tremendous fun (especially as all other drink were awfully priced - 6 quid for a double g'n't anyone?).

Lynskey (Lynskey), Sunday, 9 May 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Lynskey I'm not hard to find.

Ned didn't take the opportunity though. He's in LA but never goes out and has no friends. I feel sorry for him, so I probably won't laugh at him anymore. No wonder he has to dog my posts - it makes him feel that wee bit better.

CRW (CRW), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

ned, how was chakifap?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Quite fantastic! No puppies either!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

You don't like dogs?

I don't either.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw Van Helsing!

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw Mean Girls because my grandma took me to the movies.

I didn't make a thread about it.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw Super Size Me. Informative, but I have to wonder how much of that information was, er, massaged, what was deliberately left on the cutting-room floor, etc. Also I found the guy (and the filmmaking style, and even the music choices) incredibly smug.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 9 May 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, and if you're taking out all the vowels from dante's and my name, it should read *j*/d*nt*

No. That would be *j*/l*ttl* sh*t.

Aimless (Aimless), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, ok.

Whatever.

It just kind of bothered me to see aj*. Some people call me Aj to make fun of me. I always tell them that's the name of one of my cousins. It really is.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

That's an odd insult. If I wanted to make fun of you I'd just call you Vaj or Vaja.

LC, Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, sometimes they call me Africa. What the hell is that???

Africa is it's own contenent. They should call me something like Eurasia. Which is true. I am Aja.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, its

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

and continent?

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Chill, chill, I believe you!

LC, Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I wasn't mad at you.

YOU CHILL!

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought that you were named after the steely dan album, not the continent!

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know what I'm named after. Defenatly not the continent.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

have you even HEARD any steely dan?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think so.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Steely Dan's a vibrator, too. Apparently.

C J (C J), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

"apparently"

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:11 (twenty-one years ago)

It was the name of a vibrator in William Burroughs' book "The Naked Lunch", I think.

C J (C J), Sunday, 9 May 2004 17:13 (twenty-one years ago)

how was glasgow?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 9 May 2004 21:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Glasgow was really nice. The night we were playing at was good - although I feel the promoter has gone for too big and too unsuitable a venue from the word go. Dundee was really nice, very friendly people, good bands, very cheap student bar.

I like what I saw of Glasgow, its easy to navigate around, the record shops were very good (except Fopp. I'd not been in one since its national expansion and it was just HMV). We'll be back up sometime summer-ish I imagine when we do the proper tours behind my album and the Shirokuma record. Hope to see you then.
