Godeled up the wazoo. Do you ever find yourself mentally stuck in a loop at stupid o'clock in the morning?

I suddenly woke up early this morning (probably last night's nachos w/ jalapenos to blame) and found myself going over the same simple multiplication over and over in my head, with variations in the way it could be unpacked/expanded just to be sure i always got the same answer.

it was quite unsettling. It's not like I'd done any drugs/stimulants, apart from the nachos w/ jalapenos.

So do chillies make you go loopy then? I have thought this a couple of times after having wacky post-chile con carne/curry dreams.

I thought this was going to be about the morning zoo during drive-time radio. HIL-arious!

I tend to wake up partially and just lie in bed being scared. I would much rather do maths.

hmmm (hmmm), Monday, 10 May 2004 11:39 (twenty-two years ago)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 10 May 2004 11:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I generally do love everything in bed.

last night i was convinced my ex was phoning me up and i was talking to her. i'm sure i must have been sleep talking cos my voice sounded really odd.

for the last couple of nights i've dreamt i've been on some kind of school trip to spain but never got much further than brighton.

This happens to me a lot when I'm on tour, though it's usually a phrase, or a modus ponens kinda logical formulation, except it's one that eats its own tail by leading back to its beginning, and its volume increases as it approaches the distal end of the formulation. I hate this a lot, and am probably not making it real clear what it is that I'm talking about.

but that does sound very similar in structure

I get this too, I fixate on a small snippet of song or tv ad or something and it WILL NOT STOP. Its worst when Ive smoked some ganja though, I have to admit. Can be quite unpleasant.

Funnily I was going to start a thread somewhat like this todat, I just never got round to it.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 10 May 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

in bed to thread

So, the only thing you can do is go downstairs and watch blummin "Freescreen" on ITV for a while. That will erase that Genesis song that goes "HA ha! ha! Ohhhhh" from repeat play...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 10 May 2004 12:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, this happens all the time... Most annoying was the quadratic formula kicking around in my head for DAYS... Couldn't stop it at all... Sometimes though it's just particular words or phrases. Sometimes a song in my head will suddenly blast at maximum volume. Ugh.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:42 (twenty-two years ago)

my friend dan to thread.

happens to me sometimes too, but only if I've been doing a fairly repetitive task for a few hours straight the day before.
