I've been invited to a Bill and Ted theme party and seem ideally suited to being beethoven. but where the fuck does one get clothes like beethovens?

Dressing-up rental shops. Go for a pirate captain costume (frock coat innit) with a Benjamin Franklin/Marilyn Monroe wig. Also ear trumpet/music scroll/tuning fork if you like accessorising.

well....i would scare myself if that were the case....

Before you leave, be sure to piss yourself like what Gary Oldman did in that film about Beethoven

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Beethoven was played by Gary Oldman?
I always thought he and Charles Grodin had great chemistry in those films.

rarely a problem.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Bring your own piano too

C J (C J), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Though I can see that might be difficult if travelling to the party via public transport

C J (C J), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

a wee toy piano would be good.

Your eyebrows are already a bit like that. Beethoven looks so fierce in pictures. You'll have to perfect your looking fierce.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

He ain't no loverboy...HE'S FIERCE.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

(is that the oldest peanuts strip ever?)

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmmm. Luddy does have similar (and therefore simalarly perfect) eyebrows.

not sure i can look fierce, will try thinking nasty thoughts.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

His eyebrows look very trimmed. I'm impressed.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

You have quite a Beethovenish expression in that photo I took of you at my party. Why don't I have a scanner?

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

at a different party that i went to, a girl was apparently saying repeatedly that I "was a genius" and "like beethoven".

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 10 May 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

you are like beethoven.

Cathy (Cathy), Monday, 10 May 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Beethoven also failed his grade 5 piano by 7 points.

Robbie Lumsden (Wallace Stevens HQ), Monday, 10 May 2004 15:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Just dress like Paul Revere and the Raiders. It will be good enough and you can find the stuff in a thrift store.

Orbit (Orbit), Monday, 10 May 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Find Gary Oldman & borrow his costume. After he played the part very well :)
