Not that car exhaust is good for the environment, mind you ...
How much less disgusting litter & shit would be around if cigarettes didn't have filters? If the butts were just tobacco & paper, they would disintegrate and disappear...
And really, is a cigarette healthier with a filter? And does it matter? What's the point of a filter?

OK yeah no one should throw cigarettes in the street but I'd kind of rather them be in the sewer/gutter than be setting a damn trashcan on fire. If people put places to put cigarettes, people put the cigarettes in those places. I mean it's pretty rare to find a huge mess of cigarette butts on the ground in the vincinity of trashcans with the cigarette butt ashtray things on them.

Really? Wow, I admire that amount of effort. I roll my cigarettes, and don't use filters, so I'm not really that bothered about just leaving the butts as its all biodegradable. (I hope: lots of crazy chemicals in tobacco, but who knows) I guess it affects the look of a place if there are spent cigarettes everywhere. I dunno.
But, yeah, don't like filters - 'proper' cigarettes don't feel like yr smoking anything - not in a 'I'm a tough smoker; sort of way - I just prefer it...

Im a terror at the drop n grind in pubs, if no ashtrays are handy and its tres crowded. I'll always endeavour to bin the butt when I can tho, and if I'm somewhere I wouldnt want to litter at all like a park or someones house/garden, I've even been known to crush out and have to pocket the damn used butt til I could find somewhere to put it.
The council here has been handing out old film canisters at the beach to use as ashtrays to stop people butting out in the sand. Rather good idea methinks.
