Of course! I was obsessed with all of The Lonely Doll books when I was a kid, the pictures were so strange and haunting.

This American Life ran a really great piece about Dare Wright's life (here's the link: http://www.thislife.org/pages/descriptions/00/153.html) -- I believe the author has a biography of Dare Wright coming out this fall. It should be an interesting read.
