1. July 4, 2003, in NYC. I mean, you can't get much better than that. Ned was there! And Ally and Tom! And Nick and Sarah! And oh so many more! And Andrew Farrell slipped on some spilled beer at Siberia and we all laughed so much! Don't forget Coney Island! JBR took some great photos!

2. September 12, 2000. Tom Ewing, Jerry the Nipper, Pete Baran, and the Pinefox go out to a pub and talk about Radiohead and the future of modern music in the digital age! Mp3s, baby! Tom scratches his beard a lot and sings Destiny's Child really loudly! The first ones were always the best, innit?

3. October 5, 2002. Gareth shows up in Los Angeles unexpectedly! Ned and Spencer rule the jukebox and play "Rio" and "Just Like Heaven" over and over and over!

4. May 3, 2003. Kentucky Derby, fuckers! Hstencil and Mary and Lauren and Matos tip back a few mint juleps and cheer on Funny Cide to victory! This is what I mean when I say "America" -- right? Right?

5. March 16, 1988. Chuck Eddy and Frank Kogan get back from the Guns N Roses show and head to some Lower East Side dive to get wasted on Schlitz!

6. December 29, 2002. There's a big party in Scotland! In a disco! And the DJ's playing Belle & Sebastian! RJG challenges Mark C (ahem, "Barry Lasagne," haha!) to a thumb-wrestling match that lasts well into the night! Everyone makes fun of Kirsten's American accent! Poor girl!

7. July 5, 2003. Me and Amateurist and Nabisco talk about university presses! And XTC! For four hours! Teeny never calls.

8. February 8, 2002. Jess and Nancy order Mexican food on her birthday and break out a couple of Coronas, all the while listening to dated drum-and-bass to "enhance" the "mood"!

9. November 23, 2001. The Lady Ms. Lurex has a show! Everyone goes to see her play! It's a Kiwi thing, you wouldn't understand! Okay, maybe you would ... if you live in Dunedin!

10. April 15, 2004. Dan Perry and Chris V swim in a keg of Sam Adams, then run naked through the streets of Boston, arm in arm! It's Patriot's Day in Massachusetts! Chris reminisces about some girls he fucked in college! Everyone sighs.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:25 (twenty-one years ago)

JBR took some great photos!

I didn't take any photos! Chris took a bunch though.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Number ten sounds like it was the most forceful, in ways.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:27 (twenty-one years ago)

You realize I made half this shit up, right!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Jaymc, you are one wacky bastard and I love you.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:33 (twenty-one years ago)

But you forgot to put my birthday party FAP on there.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't read the future, man!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

(I actually originally had your Richmond going-away party on there, but I took it off to make the list more geographically diverse.)

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:35 (twenty-one years ago)

October 11, 2002. During Terrastock V, Ned, Mike Daddino, Matos, Gareth, and myself attempt to find a bar in Boston. For a city full of alcoholics, we're appalled that no bar is apparently open past midnight.

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I was reading the list and was all excited that I had actually been to the number one FAP and then I was like, wait, who's writing this that's been to all of these FAPs or has done all this rigorous research on FAPs and then the list got crazier and crazier, and then when I saw it was jaymc that wrote it I was like BUH? WHA? Then I laughed and laughed.

The only ILXor that came to our going-away party was j-lu, so it's cool.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:37 (twenty-one years ago)

July 4, 2003: CKB meets JBR

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Most romantic FAP ever.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:39 (twenty-one years ago)

CKB: i'm waiting for ned to see the thread and then overwhelm it
JBR: i hope he does!
JBR: hell, he could just post the one Raging Ned photo over and over and it'd be perfect
CKB: hahahaha
CKB: RAGING NED
JBR: RAGING NED
JBR: with his hair flying in the breeze like a norse god
CKB: RUN TO THE HILLS
JBR: RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:43 (twenty-one years ago)

He already saw it!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

The only ILXor that came to our going-away party was j-lu, so it's cool.

i'm sorry

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

(xpost) he hasn't overwhelmed it yet!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

can we call the ilx movie night of the raging ned?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, why am I supposed to overwhelm it again? I'm all for the Norse God rage photo, though.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, the longest FAP ever has to be the Dunedin visit. I sorta regard that as a seven day FAP with breaks for sleep and movies.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:49 (twenty-one years ago)

You must have been drinking that pint really slowly.

NA (Nick A.), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

The beer is THAT good, sir.

Other top FAPs include but are not limited to:

* meeting many of the Noo Yawkers for the first time, Feb 2002 -- this is when I judged Mr. Matos to be the most aggressive friendly guy I've ever met (a compliment!)

* Tom's wedding FAP, of course -- the photos really don't tell the half of it, though Mike dancing on a chair is right on up there with the all-time great moments

* the real honest to god Gareth LA visit, and scaring/revolting Gareth when I spent something like $200 on CDs, though a good chunk of that was in fact credit

* meeting my kind and good twin on earth Dan Perry, scholar and gent, as part of Boston Terrastock V FAP -- and making him AND his wife laugh!

* Dublin FAP on the final night -- it was rather drunken AND I spoke to Ronan, even if I did not actually meet the golf ravin' legend

* various Seattle FAPs, all of which have been the ultraspiff

* ChakiFAP last week, because it was CHAKIFAP dammit. I need no further explanation or justification.

* Melbourne FAP -- lots of walking, lots of coffee, lots of CDs

* Auckland FAP -- lower key and yet laden with the happy, including Andrew and Elizabeth's fiendish video game skills

* and of course July 4 FAP last year. One of a kind.

And there's the demi-FAP tomorrow and Portland in two weeks and etc. etc.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Geeta's visit to London last year might give the Dunedin rolling FAP a run for it's money.

JayMC OTM about #1 :)

The only other one of real note (that I was at) was my first, the Karoake FAP in the Pint Pot. Toby & Anna, the arrival of Dave Q, blizzard spirit, and Pete singing "Some Girls Do". It'll stick with me until I learn to drink.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you really slip on some beer???

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:03 (twenty-one years ago)

haha my god i really had to think for a second to remember if that actually happened or not!!

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

(number 8, of course)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

7. July 5, 2003. Me and Amateurist and Nabisco talk about university presses! And XTC! For four hours! Teeny never calls.

I'm still sad about this but at least I prompted you guys to get together! That whole weekned was awful, my housing fell through in NYC so I went to Chicago with my mom and she fell and twisted her ankle on the way to the FAP and I was just in hysterics about it. :( It was actually fun except for those parts I guess.

teeny (teeny), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

4. May 3, 2003. Kentucky Derby, fuckers! Hstencil and Mary and Lauren and Matos tip back a few mint juleps and cheer on Funny Cide to victory! This is what I mean when I say "America" -- right? Right?

lauren wasn't there but JBR was. And two non-ILXors. and like 100K other people.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah i was going to correct this but i didn't wanna be a fact rockist.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:13 (twenty-one years ago)

facts are highly overrated

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:14 (twenty-one years ago)

* various Seattle FAPs, all of which have been the ultraspiff

This is all we get? "Ultraspiff?" Man, I sat on the corner outside Bauhaus and talked shit about everybody who passed by for your benefit Ned. I'm totally not like that normally. Normally I'm pretty soft-spoken and really into Enya.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:17 (twenty-one years ago)

oh right, 30-some-odd-posts later I'm the facts rockist.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Martin, to talk in detail about just one would be to ignore all the grand details of all. I grant you that's a pretty great detail, though, as was the comedy 'bum bothering Ron' -- but then there was the captor of Osama some months later...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I actually thought 15 mins. ago, wait was JBR at the Derby FAP? And I decided she wasn't!

I totally confused Lauren with Eve. My bad.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned, you also happened to miss the Gareth in Seattle FAP wherein many of us also managed to horrify Gareth somewhat by spending at record stores over the course of a couple days.

martin m. (mushrush), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Hurrah!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I bet there are some more fake FAPs that I could come up with. I wish I'd had space for, like, Nickalicious, f'rinstance.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I forget the date of the one I went to (Siberia) but it was quite fun as I remember. Meeting certain folks face to face (Matos, Tracer hand, hStencil, Chuck Eddy, Geeta, Ally, Gareth, Felicity and otherz)...was indeed a fun experience.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah that one was a lot of fun, esp. getting to meet Alex and Gareth and Tim.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

You missed the dramatic Inaugural PDX FAP, in which Gareth and I ate hazelnuts.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Adam's Boise FAP was also great! Me and Adam and Huck ran through the streets screaming "POTATOES! POTATOES!" but we all had different accents so it really freaked people out.

Casuistry (Chris P), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Adam, is that frowny directed at me or Chris?

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Surely you're forgetting the shit-hot SF FAP when almost everyone failed to turn up, you and I hung around Zeitgeist and then went to some poncey bar with Leee to talk about young Hollywood actresses?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

frowny is a nice word

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:33 (twenty-one years ago)

That's what I thought you meant. That was a nice FAP. It was #11.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

"nice", the word of the day.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

12. Nickalicious, Dale the Titled, and emilymv drink a jug of moonshine and then race go-karts! Before the night is over, Nickalicious plays a moog while standing on his head! He manages to impress the cute coffee-shop girl! Yes!

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, never mind. I should quit while I'm ahead.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you drunk?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

On love?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 14 May 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Seriously, I roast cat like a motherfucker now.

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Kim, is he peeing in your sink?

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Uh... not that I know of.

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm just saying, I've heard what else happens after these Toronto FAPs.

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, this is BRYAN's fault isn't it? =)

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:30 (twenty-one years ago)

No, but I'm sure I've said too much (also I thought there was some huge thread about peeing in sinks -- there are, like, two that I found using the search function but neither is the one I'm [mis?]remembering).

Casuistry (Chris P), Saturday, 15 May 2004 02:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Jess, I remember we had a weird run in with some odd kids on a bicycle and they said something random... do you remember what the fuck they were talking about?

I don't remember this at all!

Kim, you really should watch out for those shirtless dudes, I hear they like the Dandy Warhols.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 08:16 (twenty-one years ago)

jel stayed at home and worked on a database :(

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 15 May 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

hell house!

oh, db you should really try and rent the hell house documentary if you can. so so creepy. (all these "otherwise normal looking" teenagers start speaking in tongues at one point! and all the rooms in the haunted house are based on sins! like pregnant before marriage! and abortion!)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 15 May 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

October 11, 2002. During Terrastock V, Ned, Mike Daddino, Matos, Gareth, and myself attempt to find a bar in Boston. For a city full of alcoholics, we're appalled that no bar is apparently open past midnight.

And for some reason I stayed and watched the train wreck that was D&N.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Saturday, 15 May 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Me in avoiding peeing in sink threads shockah!

Kim (Kim), Saturday, 15 May 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

And for some reason I stayed and watched the train wreck that was D&N.

Great heavens, man, surely we tried to warn you.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 15 May 2004 14:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm now wondering how much the quality of the FAPs reflect the quality of the city. London and New York, tops, of course. Certain select cities in Australia seem very nice and accomodating. LA is crap, but at least most of its citizens acknowledge this, so it's ok. But Chicago? I don't mean to sound like I'm suffering from classic Second City Syndrome, but really, we can do better. This city is loaded with cool people, and I can attest to this from experience. So what's the problem? A lack of organizational skills? A lack of even the most remote, inebriated sense of community? What gives?

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 16 May 2004 06:06 (twenty-one years ago)

the athens fap rocked

cinniblount (James Blount), Sunday, 16 May 2004 06:06 (twenty-one years ago)

flyover country gets ignored, as usual. no faps in the mn, apparently.

christhamrin (christhamrin), Sunday, 16 May 2004 06:35 (twenty-one years ago)

the Josh-Matos-Nate FAP was OK though I talked way too much (as usual)

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Sunday, 16 May 2004 06:49 (twenty-one years ago)

well thats good, i feel better now

christhamrin (christhamrin), Sunday, 16 May 2004 06:52 (twenty-one years ago)

LA is crap, but at least most of its citizens acknowledge this

You might want to rethink this.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a special place in my heart for the 'Mary and Felicity in London FAP' (excuse me as I refer to myself in the third person, as there is no doubt for Anna & Toby.

Mary (Mary), Sunday, 16 May 2004 14:33 (twenty-one years ago)

ned, you are the only delusional LA fapper.

also, chicago people, i drive 45 minutes to FAPs. get your asses in gear!

todd swiss (eliti), Sunday, 16 May 2004 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay delusion! Because I KNOW I'm right!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 16 May 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck Delusion.

De-L.A.zhun!

(That said, Kenan, many people who live in L.A. do love it. I figure out of the 15 million that live there, at least a few probably like it, ya think?)

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 16 May 2004 20:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I second Mary's vote, if only in that I was wedged tightly between her and Felicity in the Spanish bar for some while.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:16 (twenty-one years ago)

some favourites:

pete's birthday/soas fap, sep 03

nyc ilx dba fap, apr 04
nyc ilx private karaoke, apr 04
trig bruv/geetafap, jul 03
lauren/swimmer megafap, feb 04
club popular, may 04

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 19 May 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Possible best FAP: Dec 2003 - the one where Farrell turned up out of the blue-green.

Also good - Cozen FAP, 1.4.2004.

Club Popular, March 2004.

Other good ones that I already cannot recall.

Oh, also good: Palace Bar, June 2002.

the pintfox, Saturday, 29 May 2004 13:05 (twenty-one years ago)

We have forgotten the August 2001 London karaoke FAP that feature me singing "When Doves Cry", Kate singing a Travis song, Emma and Sarah singing (the chorus to) "Do You Really Like It?", Pete's immortal version of "Take On Me", and what's-her-face from The Gossip belting out "Son Of A Preacher Man".

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Saturday, 29 May 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

three years pass...

Beth Ditto FAP action immortalised. Needs more answers.

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:49 (eighteen years ago)

Chris reminisces about some girls he fucked in college!

:D

and what, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

Also re-reading that first post I was thinking it was creepy jaymc.xls to the extreme until I got to the point where he admitted making half it up.

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

lol

jaymc, Monday, 20 August 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

7. July 5, 2003. Me and Amateurist and Nabisco talk about university presses! And XTC! For four hours! Teeny never calls.

This FAP sticks in my memory as 100% awesome, largely because of the "Fibonacci salad."

nabisco, Monday, 20 August 2007 17:56 (eighteen years ago)

Other fave FAPs include:

- ChowFAP NYC (05?)
- the one in 2001 where Chicago ILX drank Rolling Rock in my bedroom
- the one where Ned threatened Rufus Wainwright (NYC 03?)
- the one where Alan T and Gareth were in NYC and I wasn't feeling well and a "sick" vs. "ill" trans-Atlantic misunderstanding made him think I was going to barf on him

nabisco, Monday, 20 August 2007 18:01 (eighteen years ago)

Clarification: it was Alan who thought I might barf on him, because I was sitting slightly above him and said "sorry, I feel a little sick."

Why I felt ill, as a warning to others: mild stomachache --> Pepto-Bismol tablets (a base) --> grapefruit and tonic (acidic) --> baking-soda volcano in belly

nabisco, Monday, 20 August 2007 18:04 (eighteen years ago)

Good lord, thinking back on it, I've been to a terrifying number of FAPs and (unless you count the Brothers Bar at Glasto) every single one of them has been in London. Actually there was one in Brighton but that's Brighton so it doesn't count.

Anyway, actually Picking Only X:

- Tom and Isabel's pre-wedding party, downstairs at the Fitzroy Taven. Ned and Mike Daddino dancing on stools, much drunkeness. AKA the one where I crowdsurfed across the pub to Andrew WK.

- The enormous Lauren FAP in the Swimmer in February 2004, AKA the Biggest FAP Ever.

- Mary and Felicity FAP at the Glasshouse Stores in January 2003. This is kind of the first one where I really felt part of the whole thing. AKA the one with the Hairy Man in the Spanish Bar, hiding from omnipotent babies and Ilxers coupling up.

- The Dragon Bar in Shoreditch, July 2005, farewell FAP for Rob Bolton and also the last time most of us saw Liz, and we gleefully talked a particularly surreal brand of nonsense together for most of the evening. AKA the one where we invented Food Science Day.

- One of the many FAPs we've had in the Champion, Spring 2003. All I remember is Toby and I pretty much in tears of laughter for about half an hour. AKA the one with the pigsex.

- Mark C's 30th birthday, downstairs at the Glasshouse Stores, March 2004. AKA the one with a massive waterpistol fite in the pub, and ending up absolutely wasted in an Old Compton Street gay bar.

- Blue Posts Newman Street, June 2004, right in the middle of the European Championships. Brian Donut Bitch was visiting, as were seemingly half of London ILX. We took over the pub, laughed at Italy going out of the tournament and it felt like the most exciting summer ever was ahead. AKA the one where we ended up utterly bollocksed at Kate's house in Bloomsbury.

- Pete's big SOAS FAP/birthday party, September 2003, complete with pool tournament and Pete-themed pub quiz. AKA the one where I said "I know this is true because Pete told me".

- Old-skool Club Freaky Trigger's 'I Love The Noughties' night at the Chapel Bar. There are loads of Club FT/Poptimisms that could make the grade but this one really sticks in my memory - Tim Finney DJed and Nick K was there as well, and we all boshed ridiculously to Scooter. AKA the best Club FT ever.

- 1 April 2004, Princess Louise, High Holborn. AKA the one where we all turned up late after failing to buy Glastonbury tickets and freaking out online, and consequently got hammered to relieve the stress. It all worked out alright anyway.

Honorable mention goes to my first FAP in August 2002, although I'm sure I've had many better ones since.

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

These days "FAP" generally means "drinking with ILXors who are visiting Chicago." Most recently, for example, the FAPs for Alfred Soto and Dr. Morbius. Otherwise, it's just hanging out my friends.

jaymc, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

Like laundry?

Rock Hardy, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

Exactly.

jaymc, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:31 (eighteen years ago)

No, I lie, I had Tisspfap, in which I played on a Wii for the only time in my life thus far, and used distilled water as contact lens solution. I only wish to repeat one of the two experiences.

Just got offed, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:34 (eighteen years ago)

the one where Ned threatened Rufus Wainwright (NYC 03?)

details plz

strgn, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

Glasgow doesn't FAP anymore, unless someone's visiting, and even then we don't manage it most of the time. Shame, we've had a couple of crackers over the years.

ailsa, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

We walked past Rufus Wainwright in the village. When Ned learned this, a minute or two later, he said he was going to go back outside and kick Rufus Wainwright's ass.

nabisco, Monday, 20 August 2007 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

Ned is a popular thug.

Glasgow doesn't FAP anymore, unless someone's visiting

has been true of London too for roughly 2 years now bar the odd birthday event.

blueski, Monday, 20 August 2007 20:42 (eighteen years ago)

L.A. faps are way too wholesome! at least the ones i'm invited to

tremendoid, Monday, 20 August 2007 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

im up for an LA debauchery-themed FAP especially since i havent met any of you

max, Monday, 20 August 2007 20:51 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah London tends to have the occasional visitor FAP (a few of them coming up, excellent) plus a monthly Poptimism plus the odd birthday FAP and big calendar event (Trig Brother, Christmas pub crawl, Food Science etc) and kind of enough I think. It's not like most of us don't see each other all the bloody time outside of events organised on ILX itself.

I can't remember the last time I went a week without socialising with someone from ILX. It's probably last October and only then because I was out of the country.

Matt DC, Monday, 20 August 2007 20:55 (eighteen years ago)

matt's list is fantastic - so many memories. i think i was at every FAP on it, except possibly for your first - i think i was maybe at your 2nd one or something? at the lyceum?

These days "FAP" generally means "drinking with ILXors who are visiting Chicago." Most recently, for example, the FAPs for Alfred Soto and Dr. Morbius.

i thought you didn't use the word "FAP"?!

Toby - nope, you were at my first FAP, above the Lyceum, although I don't actually remember meeting you until the M&F one at the GHS. I wouldn't take it personally though, we were both hammered I think.

Stence - yeah the Foundry and the Christmas pub crawl that year were both fun. These ten have really special memories attached to them though. I forgot the Ally and Tom one in the Lamb back in 2004, where we went to the Irish bar afterwards and all manner of ruin broke loose. That was a belter as well.
