I've mentioned this before on ILE, but the first two girls I ever kissed were identical twins, within about thirty seconds of each other. I knew at the time it was happening that I would still be telling the story to people over ten years later. One of them was called Jess but that's something too freaky to think about here.

I know several pairs of twins where one of them is gay - I'm wondering whether science can explain that. I'm not including my brother and sister in that, incidentally.

I know identical twins (based on their genetic homogeneity) who are not physically identical, because one had severe complications in utero and is, therefore, a much smaller person. I think they are one of a very few cases ever. Believe it or not, this is true.

I'm adopted from Colombia (duh) and on my Colombian birth certificate I'm listed, perhaps inaccurately, as a twin. I've always thought I'd like to look him/her up, but when it comes to actually taking a step in that direction I realize how content I am with my life and how much more fun it is to have a secret twin than an actual one.

This reminds me of a discussion I had with some friends after seeing the movie X Men (it may have been X Men 2, I forget). At one point Wolverine is going to have sex with that green shapeshifter thing played by Rebecca Romeijn Stamos, and she offers to take the form of any person he so chooses, including this one other X girl he is totally crushing on, Jean Gray, but he turns her down on grounds of ethics.

On the car ride home, we were all discussing who we would choose her to take the shape of, and most said obvious things like "I'd just have her be Rebecca Romeijn Stamos!" but I kept pushing the fact that if I was wolverine, I'd have her turn into Wolverine! That way I could have sex with myself and it would be completely heterosexual. I could even have her form a little vagina if I wanted; but I don't think I would. no one was coming to my defense.

Don't mean to be a pendant, but this thread should clarify that we're talking about identical twins here. Just saying "twin" includes the less interesting fraternal twins, where essentially its just 2 siblings born at the same time.

Also, it's amazing how many people don't know the difference between identical and fraternal. When I tell people I have a twin sister, for instance, 80% of the time I get asked if we're identical. Morans!!
