hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:14 (twenty-one years ago)

rawr i hate you. i will probably come down to visit as work allows. definitely coming to see AMT in June!

Ian Johnson (orion), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

AMT are roverrated, roger.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i am not roger.

and the good AMT stuff is amazing. i just rely on reviews to help me avoid the gratuitous stuff. have you heard La Novia or Electric Heavyland? I rate those quite highly.

Ian Johnson (orion), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:33 (twenty-one years ago)

no roger no rerun no rent.

wake me when AmT gets to their inevitable 50 CD-R boxset.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw a bumper sticker today that read, next to an American flag: "These Colors Don't Run The World"

Bimble (bimble), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:35 (twenty-one years ago)

nonono, the point is that AMT need to edit their stuff MORE, not LESS.

Actually, I don't have an answer to contribute, damnit. Yet this computer is asking me for an answer to contribute. It says "contribute an answer".

Bimble (bimble), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:40 (twenty-one years ago)

this is the answer:

Yemen, one of the poorest countries in the Arab world, reported strong growth in the mid-1990s with the onset of oil production, but has been harmed by periodic declines in oil prices. Yemen has embarked on an IMF-supported structural adjustment program designed to modernize and streamline the economy, which has led to substantial foreign debt relief and restructuring. International donors, meeting in Paris in October 2002, agreed on a further $2.3 billion economic support package. Yemen has worked to maintain tight control over spending and implement additional components of the IMF program. A high population growth rate and internal political dissension complicate the government's task.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:41 (twenty-one years ago)

on a side tangent, I want to live in a yurt.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, who wouldn't, hstencil? My only question: is the lattice wall required and why?

Evanston Wade (EWW), Monday, 24 May 2004 05:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Because it's the 70's, man. You have to get with the program.

Bimble (bimble), Monday, 24 May 2004 06:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I know! I know! Can I get a copy of "the program"? I'm a mess over here!

Evanston Wade (EWW), Monday, 24 May 2004 06:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I want a geodesic dome!

fourteen years pass...

I used to quilt a lot and then I made the mistake of putting candy crush on my phone. But this year I have a goal of minimum 5 quilts to make. One I need to make by the end of the month (will be minimalistish). Will post pics if I can get my shit together.

Yerac, Thursday, 10 January 2019 13:23 (six years ago)

I am intrigued by this.

one year passes...

Need update on yerac’s quilting pls

mom tossed in kimchee (quincie), Tuesday, 21 January 2020 02:46 (five years ago)

omg. I was kind of bad and only made one quilt. and I procrastinated and procrastinated (it was a gift) and then busted it out in like 3 days. And it was sooooo hot in our apartment and I was sweating my ass off. I am going to find a pic and post it. I am sure the pic is not great, bob. I end up tossing it on the floor and trying to take pics from the coffee table or wherever.

Yerac, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 03:59 (five years ago)

I am using Karl Malone's posting image tute. I kind of slacked off on the actual quilting part just so I could finish in time. I am trying to see if I have a pic of the back.

this was 5x5 feet.

Yerac, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 04:09 (five years ago)

dat quilt dope af imo

del griffith, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 04:23 (five years ago)

thx!
I do not have a good pic of the back. I have a horrible pic of it before it was quilted together and from my old house. I made two of the same back design a long time ago and then ended up finally using it like 7 years later. But i like super simple designs and the blue fabric /design is of tall buildings.

awesome! i want to quilt

forensic plumber (harbl), Tuesday, 21 January 2020 12:59 (five years ago)

so so jealous of these awesome quilts. I was just starting to learn quilting when my life became nomadic -- I completed one very bad square in the fall of 2002 I think.

she carries a torch. two torches, actually (Joan Crawford Loves Chachi), Tuesday, 21 January 2020 13:15 (five years ago)

I love doing the patchwork part of quilting but am terrible at the actual quilting/sending it out to be quilted for me part. I currently have two quilt tops sitting around going nowhere, and instead of finishing them I just started a new one.

Lily Dale, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 19:56 (five years ago)

yeah, i always have high hopes to do nice free quilting but then I always just end up stitch in the ditch or other straight line designs just to get it done. I need to make a 3x9 or 10 foot one for winter couch laying about and that one might actually see free quiting since it will be easier to maneuver in my small machine.

Yerac, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 20:15 (five years ago)

That sounds cool. I've never tried free quilting with my machine, and most of the quilts I've been making lately are too big to even do stitch in the ditch with a normal size machine, so I just keep putting off dealing with them.

Lily Dale, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 20:59 (five years ago)

I've made a queen size quilt before in my little Brother machine. It's possible . You just have to roll the side up tightly and start in the middle/switch sides. But I likely will never make one that big again. I just really wanted a specific quilt design I saw on Purlbee for my bed..

Yerac, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 21:05 (five years ago)

i was a bit obsessed with this picture on the site and learned how to quilt so i could make it. https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2008/11/24/mollys-sketchbook-a-wedding-quilt/

Yerac, Tuesday, 21 January 2020 21:07 (five years ago)

Oh,that's really cool! Maybe I'll try machine quilting this one I'm working on now, since it's just a nine-patch and it won't be too noticeable if I screw it up.
