Yeah, my mum got really angry when I stole her fishnets and wore them to the regatta and got really drunk when I was 12. She was more upset about the fishnets than the alcohol - she was scared that someone she knew may have seen me. Which they must have, to have dobbed me in.

Ultraclassic and the easiest way to jazz up a wardrobe for Not Very Much Money. I have 'footie'-sized fishnets, knee-highs, and the proper tights in a multitude of colours like red, baby pink, fuchsia and of course black. I'd like some coffee brown ones (so '40s). I will shortly be wearing some dead-toed ones with Japanese tabi socks and geta shoes (wooden flipflops on stilts).

fishnets are uber-classic. uber uber uber classic in fact. i am adding to my fishnet collection at a startling rate, infact i seem to be buying all kinds of weird and wacky legwear of late. my favoutite fishnets are the maroon ones but i am liking the sound of brown ones... mmmm, fishnets. they also leave great indentations on your feet and toes, i am fascinated by the indentations.

People in high school get all shocked by it. This is possibly because of my personality, though, because they don't get all shocked when some of my friends wear them.

Where do you FIND all these lovely colors? I have been looking all over and can only find black and red; in solid stockings, only gray, shades of tan, black, and white. Please name somewhere I might be able to a) order from or b) find.

hmmm Maria i don't know where you are located (but i think you are in the US, yes?) if you have Top Shop then i find that's usually the best place. if not maybe those tacky-lookin specialist underwear shops (there's one near my work called Legs and Lingerie which sells all manner of horrid pvc and nylon panties but also *joy* many types of tights, though suspiciosly enough the fishnets come in ony black and tarty crimson, heh heh). i'm sure somewhere would do mail order.

Today I am wearing burgundy fishnets with a black stripe. Marks and Sparks. They are long on leg, short on body which is good. Sock Shop fishnets are short on leg, long on body, which leads to interesting yet uncomfortable crotch sagging effect.

Unfortunately, I did not get the fishnet memo at the FAP. There are, however, photos of me on the web somewhere onstage wearing a pair of fishnets. It was on someone's blog, who went on and on about how much he enjoyed us - probably only because of the fishnets!

I can actually remember my very first pair of fishnets. I bought them from the Halloween section while I was working at Woolworth's. I wore them until they fell off me, even when the rips got so big that my toes poked through them painfully.

Yeah, I'm with blount on this one, any type of stockings besides thigh highs generally gives me the fear, those waist-high regular ones are sometimes inevitable. Why anyone would put on something as unflattering as a bodystocking amazes me; it doesn't even look good on those models who have all been airbrushed and siliconed and dyed to be überhott!

They exist in the realm, for me, of those weird silicone out-plants that they sell in like Fredericks and stuff. How do you explain this when you remove your bra and your breasts FALL OFF??? Similarly, I imagine removing your clothes to reveal your stockings are covering your entire body in a confusing nouveau chastity belt situation would be extremely confusing for boys.

I've never gotten much kicks out of most types of tights. The regular ones remind me of my mom, and fishnets are too goth for my taste. I do love those hippie-ish, Pippi Longstocking type of striped tights, though. Like these:
