In chronological order, post an itinerary of eats for a single day that you would recommend for someone (anyone) to follow. Other posters can then try said one-day diet and comment on it's effects (if any), or if you are feeling saucy you can just post 'creosote for breakfast, keeps you regular!' and be laughed at briefly.

I eat the same thing every night - wheat/ carrots/ celery/ onions but I'm a weirdo so ignore me

Dadaismus (Dada), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

omg wtf??!

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

I know, I have a tendency to go off on strange diets every now again - not to lose weight or anything - apparently Lou Reed was the same in 60s. If it's good enough for Lou.....

Dadaismus (Dada), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

you were on the amphetamine and tranny sex diet too, Dadaismus?

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem try mcD sausage and egg muffin meal (+ coca cola) for breakfast, KFC variety meal (+ pepsi) for lunch and then 2 pints of lager and a lamb donner for dinner.

We must not forget the important principle of 'different stokes for different folks.' This principle also applies to pokes, blokes and jokes.

I drink a glass of water with a squeeze of lemon juice in it every morning before breakfast. It's supposed to be good for you, my dietician friend assures me, like a sort-of mini daily detox. I am not dead yet, so presumably it's not lethal or anything.

The wheat comes in grains - like rice but actually with a taste

Dadaismus (Dada), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Aimless (Aimless), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in over my head here, you foodies you, I don't know but it's tasty and very good for you and, if it wasn't for the binge drinking, I'd be the healthiest man in Britain right now

Dadaismus (Dada), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Two egg sandwhich (w/ 3 slices bread) in the morning. Bagel and orange for lunch. For dinner, usually 1/2 lb. pasta or Chinese. Supplement with raw vegetables like tomatoes, green peppers, and cucumbers.

57 7th (calstars), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Toast. All day. I do this diet far more often than I should. I am fat and unhealthy. MAN! Although yesterday I had chicken fajitas and they were rather nice. Also, I think they contained ROHYPNOL as I fell asleep VERY soon after scoffing my face. Whodathunkit!

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i have special K for breakfast. something gross for lunch (quickly thrown-together sandwich, gross pre-made salad, gross microwave dinner thang), yoghurt in the late afternoon, and something gross for dinner. I need food help :(

mandee, Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

this is pretty typical for me:
bran flakes, banana, nonfat yogurt for breakfast; fake chicken cutlet sandwich w/ tomato slices and mustard, cup of lentil or tomato or pea soup, apple for lunch; two tortillas with soy cheese and spinach for dinner. throw in a few hershey's kisses or similar for gross sugar fix. like kcoyne, i'd be in great shape if it weren't for the demon drink.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

HIPPIE

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I brought back hersheys kisses for the office - they taste like sicky poo. they were quite annoyed, it was only the mini mister goodbars that saved me.

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

if i hadn't grown up eating hershey's chocolate, i'd probably be disgusted by it. but they're in the office bowl and i refuse to actually buy candy, so kisses it is.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

but I like the hershey chocolate on reeses cups etc? it's just the kisses that gave me the screaming ab-dabs. I actually spat it down my shirt :o(

chris (chris), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:32 (twenty-one years ago)

reese's cups are yum. the kisses can be really chalky and old-tasting.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

They are completely horrible, it's weird.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

but thanks to calstars, mandee and lauren for their posts. i think people should try their suggestions. perhaps i will do myself. i'd like to make more time for breakfast.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

mandee, Wednesday, 2 June 2004 16:25 (twenty-one years ago)

wheat/carrots/celery/onions, prepared how?

Oh flung in a pot with various spices und condiments and errrrrrrrrrr cooked. I'm not fucking Gordon fucking Ramsay.

You disappoint me. You fake weirdo. I'd have been more impressed if you'd said 'raw, one after the other'.

Currently I'm off work so my daily routine goes something like this:
BREAKFAST - 3 large mugs of coffee (plus painkillers for my back problem)
LUNCH - muesli (served with water)
DINNER - (either) muesli OR cheese on toast with tomato ketchup, followed by ice cream
SNACKS - cups of tea, oranges, doritos (cool original or tangy cheese flavours), sauerkraut, apples, can of Guinness

David (David), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Breakfast - typically a raisin bagel with peanut butter or an everything bagel with chive cream cheese.
Lunch - my wife makes me a sandwich everyday, usually with a yogurt and some baked chips.
Dinner - what ever the ol lady decides to cook, unless I grill. Followed by ice cream.

Chris 'The Velvet Bingo' V (Chris V), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

fake baby carrots?? how?

they shave down the big-boy carrots to make them look baby. saves me the effort of peeling and slicing them myself.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i lost his number annoyingly, but i am most likely dining on edgy Upper St earlier that evening so call me flaky for now. luckily the 'dining' mention brings us back on topic whew.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i wouldn't mind eating this godawful rabbit food if it made me feel full at all, but i'm really really hungry all the time. am i broken?

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

mahi mahi is japanese/hawaiian for what english-speakers refer to as "dolphin fish" (and what the mexicans call "dorado"). a small steak makes for a hearty meal i promise! and i'm more prone to stay alert all afternoon (as i'm off caffeine).

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:51 (twenty-one years ago)

i know what mahi mahi is. i also can't afford to eat it very often.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:52 (twenty-one years ago)

come back to the west coast, you can get it fresh too...

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

carrots and beets with cabbage and a little bit of mustard, mayonnaise and other ingredients (aka cole slaw) fills me up good.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:56 (twenty-one years ago)

can't eat mayo OR mustard, stence.

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 2 June 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 3 June 2004 02:09 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmm that meal was tasty.

Breakfast is a glass of orange juice, lunch is usually a sandwich, apple and cookies. (And lately too many snacks from the vending machine). Dinner is varied.

SAMOSA AND HOT CHOCOLATE = GROSS

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 3 June 2004 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Most days:

Breakfast: yoghurt, maybe a cup of coffee and some toast if I have time.
Lunch: focaccia with tomato, mozarella and basil from the deli across from my work
Dinner: whatever I can be bothered to cook. Last night was a beef casserole with new potatoes and steamed broccoli, tonight is going to be lasagne if I can get up off my arse and actually make it. Otherwise it will be a quiche that's been lying in the freezer for ages.

Don't really do snacks, but had some Camembert and a pear whilst watching TV last night.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 3 June 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

There was a gap of 1 hr 45 minutes between the samosa and the hot chocolate I should point out!!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 3 June 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 3 June 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Cutty, that's not my evil mind at work, that's how we label gorgeous tasting food.

Poppy bagel with strawberry cream cheese for breakfast
Homemade cream of tomato w/basil soup and fake turkey sandwich with lettuce and mustard for lunch
Thai dish with tofu and vegetables in brown sauce for dinner
Strangely for me, I've had no alcoholic beverages yet today, but thinking about that Humboldt Brewery IPA Nectar in the fridge is probably going to make that change in just a sec...

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Friday, 4 June 2004 01:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a big veggie burrito from the local Chipotle clone (Burrito Loco!) almost every day. I saw somewhere that those big burritos are like 2000 calories each, but that is perfect for me because I am trying to healthily put on the muscle (or at least not look like a hollow shell of a man) so lots of guacamole and beans is perfect. I keep meaning to not get the cheese and sour cream but I cannot resist.

Dan I., Friday, 4 June 2004 02:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Breakfast:  Traditional sweet (sweet potato) empanada, water.
Lunch:  PB&J sandwich, Cheetos, oatmeal raisin cookie, iced tea.
Dinner:  Wendy's chicken sandwich, side salad, soda.
Dessert:  Peach.

I could do that on a daily basis, sure.
