P I M P, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:04 (twenty years ago) link

Play Elimidate with them.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:06 (twenty years ago) link

I love that show.

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:06 (twenty years ago) link

bring them all together. the one who handles it worst, go with him

g--ff (gcannon), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:07 (twenty years ago) link

Put them behind a screen and ask them things like "If you were a kitchen implement, which one would you be and why?" and then choose the wrong one.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:10 (twenty years ago) link

I'm the one who posted the question but didn't feel like typing pimp again..it was kind of a joke...and to hamburgler...thanks a bunch but i'm not stupid. i'm just dating around and accidently got myself in a bind. i really like all of these guys...i've known 2 of them almost a year and the other i just started dating..i enjoy spending time with all of them and when they asked if i wanted to hang out i just said yeah sure why not..then they said how bout thursday and instead of thinking...i said sure! so ridicule all you want..i hope that makes you feel better about yourself.

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:11 (twenty years ago) link

(also, sorry to anyone who knows me for not going for the predictable answer, given my past sex life...)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:12 (twenty years ago) link

clones!

boba fett, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:13 (twenty years ago) link

this long without the predictable answer??? maybe ILE is cleaning up its act!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:14 (twenty years ago) link

I restrained myself, yes.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:14 (twenty years ago) link

restraint? The next thing you know there'll be things like "decorum", "order", "etiquette" even...

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:16 (twenty years ago) link

alexa i think you should decide which one you'd like to hang out with the most on that particular night (how you do this is up to you...tossing a three sided coin maybe) and tell the other two you're not well - altho trying to cater for all 3 in one night would be exciting doubtless

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:17 (twenty years ago) link

That's the problem though!! i can't decide!!

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:19 (twenty years ago) link

The decorous answer would be to suggest that alexa prepare for a long night.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:19 (twenty years ago) link

All other things being equal, go with the one who makes the most money.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:20 (twenty years ago) link

ok well we got a baseball player...a bartender/law student and a small business owner..you guys pick

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:22 (twenty years ago) link

Pro baseball?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:22 (twenty years ago) link

Which one is the smartest and/or has the best sense of humor?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:22 (twenty years ago) link

Knowing my predilictions I'd be boozily making out with the bartender/law student already.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:23 (twenty years ago) link

What kind of "small business"? Could just be an ice cream man or something. (No disrespect to hstencil or any other ILX ice cream men past or present)

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:23 (twenty years ago) link

Mayonnaise Retailer?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:24 (twenty years ago) link

no he plays for a farm team...but he might be pro one day...

well the bartender/law student is by far the funniest
the baseball player is just HOT
and the business owner is more the marrying type...someone i coudl really see myself with ...but i don't know if i'm ready to settle yet

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:24 (twenty years ago) link

Who gives a shit? Stay home and order pizza. Yes, that means you have to pay for your own food. They all sound like first-class losers to me already.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:24 (twenty years ago) link

people still "date"?

kephm, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:26 (twenty years ago) link

man tombot you're harsh!! they're actually all pretty sweet...sorry to disappoint.

and for reasons that are secret i'd like to not say what business man does...which is why i'm referring to them by profession and not by name

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:26 (twenty years ago) link

Haha "date" as in get strung along for months and months at a time, apparently, yes they do

TOMBOT, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:27 (twenty years ago) link

Tombot speaks sense.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:28 (twenty years ago) link

She's been dating 2 for almost a year = psycho

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:29 (twenty years ago) link

tombot...no offense but you seem bitter...yes "we" still date..shit i'm 22...it's not so bad..unless you lack personality and social skills...and maybe you didn't have good luck and you got strung along for months and months..in which case i'm sorry...but get off you're wah wah poor me bullshit..laughing at other people won't make it better.

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:29 (twenty years ago) link

why are you dating 2 people for a year? do you enjoy having guys buy you shit for free?

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:30 (twenty years ago) link

if you read it again...i said i've known them for almost a year...not dated them for almost a year...and why am i defending myself to you guys anyway? fuck off.

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:31 (twenty years ago) link

"we"?

http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/egypt/food/pictures/dates.jpg

kephm, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:31 (twenty years ago) link

I don't think you want to solve this problem.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:32 (twenty years ago) link

The most honest thing to do would be to cancel with all three of them and spend the evening at home.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:33 (twenty years ago) link

nordicskilla otm

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:34 (twenty years ago) link

i suggest you string along all 3 for as long as people. that way, you know, you have the possibility of 3 explosive situations making things more exciting.

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:35 (twenty years ago) link

invite them over but keep them in separate rooms. like the zoo, then have lots of "trips to the bathroom"

kephm, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:36 (twenty years ago) link

is this a screwball romantic comedy?

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:38 (twenty years ago) link

Give each one a riddle to solve, then go with the guy with the best hair.

Huk-L, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:38 (twenty years ago) link

Didn't Elvis have this problem in one of his movies (with the gender reversed, obv.)?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:39 (twenty years ago) link

serious question: are you fucking any of them?

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:39 (twenty years ago) link

Didn't Elvis have this problem in one of his movies (with the gender reversed, obv.)?

Shelvis?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:40 (twenty years ago) link

Dear god, I read that as Matos asking if alexa was in fact actually one of these three people.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:40 (twenty years ago) link

Maybe you should create two more threads about this?

deanomgwtf!!!p%3Fmsgid%3D4581997 (deangulberry), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:41 (twenty years ago) link

haha Ned I don't swear ALL the time!

I only ask because if you're not then why not hang out w/them all together? (then it would be WACKY!)

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:43 (twenty years ago) link

if you read it again...i said i've known them for almost a year...not dated them for almost a year...and why am i defending myself to you guys anyway? fuck off.

sweetheart, that is just the way guys are-even the nice ones. those are the kind of guys you keep as friends, because they ARE nice. they don't want to hurt your feelings. and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND asking guys out, because if a guy REALLY(assuming he is a REAL man) WANTS to be with you, even a tsunami, volcano, hurricane, earthquake,or tidal wave could not keep him away. So don't stress out because some local- yokel dissed you. BELIEVE ME when you meet a REAL man you will be glad, (and he will too) that you haven't dirtied yourself with some nerd. Because I GUARANTEE you, when you look back you WILL think that dude is a nerd!!!!!!!!!

She looking for some kind of Ubermensch or what?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:54 (twenty years ago) link

how many alexa's are on here??

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:54 (twenty years ago) link

I think right now we're more curious to hear how many dates are on you?

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:56 (twenty years ago) link

how many are on me?? none..i'm at work

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:56 (twenty years ago) link

Ah, the old 'no dates on me' routine.

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:58 (twenty years ago) link

Huh?

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 17:59 (twenty years ago) link

there's is one simple solution that will satisfy all parties.
alexa shall be divided into 3 and each guy will get to take out 1/3rd of her. problem solved.
next¡

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:09 (twenty years ago) link

I kind of wonder if this had been a guy talking about 3 dates if people would have been as hostile.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:16 (twenty years ago) link

You know me, dude

TOMBOT, Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:17 (twenty years ago) link

Just funnin'. Sheesh!

Michael White (Hereward), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:18 (twenty years ago) link

I think people would have been more hostile.

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:19 (twenty years ago) link

well i'm signing off. you guys are really mean...especially todd..you know nothing about me, my "dates", my friends, or my life...and the fact that you judge me by this thread says more about you than it does me. best of luck to all...and try to have some class or at least a little tact when giving other people advice. not that this was even posted as a serious question trying to get serious results...but i thought you all had a sense of humor..maybe give some funny solutions...but instead there was way too much hostility..

alexa, Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:20 (twenty years ago) link

I was trying to be helpful! If you're friends w/all of them and they could stand each other's company in a non-rivalrous way, maybe you could all hang out together. Sorry if I seemed jerky about it, though, I realized my advice looked a little suspicious and I appended the "(WACKY!)" when I shouldn't have.

Matos W.K. (M Matos), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:23 (twenty years ago) link

actually strike "when I shouldn't have," it was perfectly within bounds to do that

i suggest getting a little book to write your appointments in, alexa

although i think most psychiatrists would say that you wanted this pile-up to happen, that you engineered this crisis

btw we're under no obligation to be nice

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:40 (twenty years ago) link

I kind of wonder if this had been a guy talking about 3 dates if people would have been as hostile.

If he had asked in the same dopey fashion, yeah.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:43 (twenty years ago) link

Tracer on point - I groan when I see this on TV. I mean, you'd think you want a trouble-free life really.

Crickets Dance On Tequila Booty (Barima), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:47 (twenty years ago) link

Clearly the right answer is to ditch them all and hang out with ME.

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:52 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, it was pretty dopey, I still suspect there would have been more high fiving.

bnw (bnw), Thursday, 3 June 2004 18:54 (twenty years ago) link

i stand by my remarks.

dyson (dyson), Thursday, 3 June 2004 19:10 (twenty years ago) link

You can either:

- pick one, call the other two and say, 'I"m awfully sorry, I know we were supposed to go out tonight, but I wasn't thinking and didn't realize I made plans with you on a night I already had plans with another friend, can we do it tomorrow/whatever other day?;

- stay home on your own and watch chick flicks;

- pick one and tell the others you aren't feeling well and need to reschedule; or

- go with the one with the biggest dick.
