Hello.

Do you read sometimes read screenplays, either downloaded or in book form? If so, perhaps you can recommend me a well-realized, plotty (and decently formatted) script that isn't crappy. What are some good scripts that you have read recently and why?

Also - if you download, what form do you read them in? Do you print the whole thing up? At work perhaps?

There's shitload of freely available screenplays online... "Network" or "Chinatown" are the best.

Please don't tell us you're going to write a screenplay. Please, no...

Haha! No comment, obviously.

I've read both of those, however. Good recommendations, though.

First one I ever read was for True Romance 10 years back and I loved it.

I read so many shitty screenplays when I worked in film, the very idea of voluntarily reading them now makes me wince.

I was waiting for you.

Sorry. Not very helpful.

It's okay. Don't be sorry.

Krzysztof Kieslowski and Dennis Potter always read well. Why do you want to read them?

agreed, the screenplay for the singing detective is available as a paperback and is worth reading even if you haven't seen the series. It's very well written and evocative.

Rod Serling's "Requiem For A Heavyweight": best screenplay ever.

Rod Serling just drives me insane.

ten years pass...

Has anyone ever submitted a screenplay to one of those competitions you have to pay to enter? I've seen it recommended a number of places, but it really sounds like scam to me...
