Housework

Does anyone else do lots of housework when they're feeling a bit down as a simple and shallow way of feeling you're done something worthy?

Or what else do you do when those feelings of self-doubt and apathy come over you?

sulk and feel doubtful and worthless, like i'm doing now. i really can't be bothered with the washing up, none of it's fucking mine anyhow.

When I feel miserable I put on songs I like and sing along, that makes me happy. It doesn't please those who hear me, ha ha.

Mark S, you are MEAN. Unless you drive-by things like plaster elves and remove them from this world.

Smoke. More.

And listen to country, sometimes while driving nowhere in particular.

I hate housework but I will do it to put off homework. Self-doubt and apathy - sit and sulk and if it's particularly strong listen to Pink Floyd.

Me + housework = borderline obsessive compulsive (thanks mum!). I do it to impose order in my life when more important things feel out of control. Not shallow pleasures, though: a clean floor is a fine thing. However, I should probably just drink more.

Oh yes, once the house is tidy you can start on your mind. Or, forget about things by doing something else. Washing up is great. Hoovering is great if your hoover works well. Cleaning the stairs is not so good. The bathroom is vaguely disgusting. I can't stand living in mess for long anyway. I can't do anything until things are tidied. I have to tidy my room when I get in. I'll not be content until I do. I border on obsessiveness in this respect.
