Is this incredibly sad? Perhaps. I am a bit drunk.

i liked his turn in Friends as well, playing the formerly fat guy Rachel used to pick on in high school - smart of the writers to throw him in as someone who would despise Aniston's character
― stevem (blueski), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)
His accent in snatch is totally classic!
― Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)
His butchering of the classics (in Troy), however, not so classic. He's just too modern.
His terrible Oirish accent in Snatch is a great send up of his own terrible Irish accent in The Devil's Own.
― accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)
He was good in Friends, if only because I despise the entire cast.
― Andrew (enneff), Friday, 4 June 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)
He's very personable in the right role. Search: Snatch, Twelve Monkeys, Se7en and of course Fight Club.

He can only do two things as an actor : play a cool character - basically cos he looks so good (see Oceans Eleven where all he does is pose in nice clothes and act cool, also Fight Club) and play a dumb character (see Seven, True Romance, etc).
His accent in Snatch : perfect. He's playing an Irish traveller, and though he;s sposed to be incomprehensible to US and UK ears, to me it was all pretty easy to understand. But the accent is OTM.

do WHAT now? that's exactly the kind of thinking that makes me unhappy to be a girl, and even unhappier to have liked der Pitt in Fight Club
― Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Saturday, 5 June 2004 03:10 (twenty-one years ago)
Brad Pitt, for what it's worth, is shit at accents (The Devil's Own, Snatch, Seven Years in Tibet) but by and large makes some decent films. There are far worse films in the world than Meet Joe Black.
Why all the love for his cameo in Friends though? His comedic skills were a bit lame, I thought.

In Troy he was sullen, pouty, and annoying. Him and Ornaldo drug down the whole movie.

I am curious as to whether those of you who know little or nothing about baseball intend to see Moneyball, now that a bestselling book about market inefficiencies in sports business has been made into a BP vehicle.

Yet another William Pitt!
― The Fields o' Fat Henry (Tom D.), Sunday, 5 July 2020 11:41 (five years ago)
this story is wild. Pitt and his nonprofit raised a fuckton of cash to build homes for Katrina survivors, selling each for $150,000. the houses started to completely fall apart within months and the nonprofit disappeared into the ether. https://t.co/rnIrYDInfE— keyv (@most_opppressed) February 7, 2022
what an incredibly perverse concept of *charity* - charging people 150 grand for black mold infested death-traps that were falling apart within months.
