How closely are the two linked? Cos emotions are just chemicals, right? Right?

I once said to a psychologist in a pub, "I think people would be much happier if they just played more sport", and I was kinda joking (it was a very odd conversation), but as soon as I'd said it I realised I meant it. The two sides, intellectual vs visceral, theoretical vs emotional, wisdom(?) vs passion, snip and snipe at each other, but are they actually that different? Neither side actually is better.

Yes, I have been drinking.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:13 (twenty years ago) link

I was so gutted when my 'style vs content' thread devolved into a host of injokes and Rodney Dangerfield pix.

Emotion, any day.

With enough drugs you can't feel either

Or conversely, one can feel them both intensely.

One time on a combo of e and tea, I fell in love with a girl's silk curtains. Passionately, engorgedly in love and boy did they feel good too. Of course, I think I permanently misaligned the girl's psyche.

permanently misaligned the girl's psyche = !?!

Imagine some highly intoxicated person literally perving on your home décor and ask yourself if your mind would ever be the same.

I had a girl on E have an orgasm on my bed once because I played her a Doves b-side through some good Sennheisers. Ah, university...

You, one hopes, were not left in the lurch, as it were?

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:37 (twenty years ago) link

Much like the time two lesbians were streaming coke of my toilet seat, I was.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:42 (twenty years ago) link

Later you could have put on that Prince song and kicked her out.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:46 (twenty years ago) link

My best friend was there too. She was up for a threesome but he was very freaked out by this.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:49 (twenty years ago) link

You should have sent him to the hardware store for 3/16" wingnuts and shagged her.

Michael White (Hereward), Friday, 4 June 2004 21:51 (twenty years ago) link

She was too small. It would never have worked. Although she did fancy me, apparently.
