Taking Sides: Kim Basinger in "The Getaway" Vs Demi Moore in "About Last Night"

Now, Demi always looked a bit tough to me. Like she'd sock you in the face, but nonetheless she was a pretty sweet item back in the eighties and doesn't she show it when she disrobes in "About Last Night"!!! Sadly, she's getting down with Rob Lowe! He of the "Vote Bush" camp, and the "Hey, she was 16 brudder" infamy.

But, how can you even compare Demi with Kim, who was quite possibly the hottest human being on earth in the eighties. Then came the nineties and she got hooked up with a Baldwin, but she's still suuuuuper sexy in "The Getaway". Nudity is cool (as long as the fellas keep their togs on).

one year passes...
i forgot about the scene in about last night where they are both wearing walkman headphones, staring soulfully at each other, and listening to slow jamz. that is a rightous scene. but there are so many wonderful scenes it's hard to know where to start. That "moving in together" montage is hard to beat.

It's like, to you people, No Small Affair never existed.

(And that sentence felt so weird to write, what with the double negative and all.)

miracle mile is on flix right now, starring anthony edwards.it's about the end of the world. i went to see it at the movie theatre when it came out and the power went out halfway thru. i saw it as a sign. i don't think i've ever watched it to the end.

I had a vision of Demi Moore subbing for Phoebe Cates in Fast Times in Ridgemont High's "Moving in Stereo" sequence.

miracle mile is a good forgotten movie! pretty scary!

I've always liked "Miracle Mile" quite a bit but everyone I've recommended it to doesn't take to it. The visual of Anthony Edwards pushing love interest Mare Winningham while she's asleep in a shopping cart at top speed through the empty LA streets has always stuck with me.

The climactic chaos of Los Angeles collectively discovering THEY WILL ALL DIE SOON is orchestrated very well also if memory serves.

I remember when this came out but never saw it. Hmm.
