mookieproof (mookieproof), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm working on it

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Could I love someone who asked an asinine question like this? Probably not.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Horace OTM.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:41 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah geez we should talk more about comic books, that'd be "cool."

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey!

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

knee-jerk is as knee-jerk does, Huck.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Jack Kirby vs Derek Bailey FITE!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

fite, shmite, whatever. It's old.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

God vs Sinners, SMITE!

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably, given that I have never heard of this album.

Sir Stewart Wallace (Enrique), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you read much about music?

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

"This album HASN'T restored my faith in indie rock, ho ho!"
-- Jon Williams, 2004

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I actually own it. (OMGWTF JW IN LIKING CRAPPY INDIE SHOCKA) But who the fuck likes this album THIS MUCH?!!? (Other than the cupcake eaters over at Pitchfork)

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't read pfork. This looks corny anyway.

Sir Stewart Wallace (Enrique), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I like cupcakes.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 June 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

This is a big reason why I don't date indie geeks any more.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was because all the indie geeks are married. To JON WILLIAMS!
Zing!

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

sub-Huckian, at best.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Give me a break. I spent the whole weekend writing jokes. Mainly about hair-loss. HAhaha.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN DATING SOMEONE WHO REALLY LIKED FRANZ FERDINAND

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

It would be better than jerking off alone to late night abdominizer infomercials.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Huck, man, winter's over, you gotta get out more.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Daisy Fuentes, Daisy Fuentes

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

what about chuck norris?

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I worry about you too, bnw.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

The worst thing about the Windsor Pilates infomercial is that sometimes I think of the queen.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

More chicks like whiney indie then jon's noisey crap. I win.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

now I KNOW you're delusional.

I WATCHED THIS :( (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

PS - GIRLZ LOVE OOIOO

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

also kinda hard to meet fictional indie-lovin' chicks when you're holed up in your apartment checkin' out Christie Brinkley's abs, freak-a-zoid. At least 6 months out of the year Huck has the excuse of Saskatchewan winters...

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

dude, i know dem indie chicks. don't make me bust out my friendster profile on you.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Taking Sides: Upstate NY vs. Saskatchewan

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost to bnw: in THE SAME CITY AS YOU? doubtful.

JON - MANHATTAN IS NOT UPSTATE NY BUT MAYBE YOU MEAN ROCHESTER.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

No one in Britain gives a shit about Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, the overloaded praise/revulsion is almost exclusively an American thing.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt DC OTM. I think it's a really good record, but that's all. I really like Fatboy's voice and way with a melody.

Sick Mouthy (Nick Southall), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

oh no!
http://visualeffects.net/effectsguide/cinefex/movie%20magic/predator.jpg

sees me!

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

hstencil is on good form here

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Super-hstencillian at best.

Huk-El (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't encourage him.

NA (Nick A.), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

H - I cannot link the flock of cute indie girls I know in the NYC b/c I know u will steal them, you slut.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread makes me really depressed and sad and hopeless in a way I really can't quite articulate.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

don't take it to heart--it's only a J0n Wi11iams thread

mookieproof (mookieproof), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

the drumming on YHF is totally amazing!!!! maybe if simon reynolds devoted 2-3 sentences about it, the backlash would recede but whatevz.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Glenn is a good drummer, yeah.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm really not sure what this thread is about. This girl REALLY LIKES WILCO though!

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

That Loose Fur record that's just Jeff Tweedy and Jim O'Rourke and Glenn Kotche is really fucking awesome. I think I like that better than any Wilco album. And I love Wilco.

Glenn used to live here in Lexington, I saw him play with a band (it may have been birddog) and god he's really an amazing intuitive player.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 7 June 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw an ad in a record shop for an, uh, alt.country band that was written in a "you must know this much to have a chance of being in our band" stylee. It said "YANKEE HOTEL FOXTROT: your idea of a great night out or the best album of the last decade????" I bombed the shop later

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Monday, 7 June 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

huck is on good form here

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 7 June 2004 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I have loved someone whose favorite album was Wide Open Spaces by the Dixie Chicks and I think that would somehow be more tolerable.

Also if anyone wanted to date my roommate I would feel compelled to inform them that were favorite album is Rock N Roll by Ryan Adams.

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

"her favorite"

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a small price to pay for trucker hat buttsex.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Trucker Hat Buttsex is the name of a band somebody here has seen live on stage and I claim my ultimately empty million pounds

TOMBOT, Monday, 7 June 2004 16:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I have to start a thread based on a conversation I had with her and her friends last night about music...

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

how's the ole' couch?

HAMBURGER NEURON GROUP (ex machina), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Gear! (Gear!), Monday, 7 June 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Morley Timmons (Donna Brown), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe if simon reynolds devoted 2-3 sentences about it, the backlash would recede but whatevz.

Hahaha! You are funny.

Anyway, I love someone whose favorite record is probably something far worse than YHF. Love is awesome!

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I love all of you, by the way.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:27 (twenty-one years ago)

but me a little more?

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:30 (twenty-one years ago)

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:30 (twenty-one years ago)

gygax sadly OTM. Really fuckin' sad state of affairs in a certain segment of critdom. Disgusting.

that Loose Fur record was pretty darn good, nickalicious OTM.

Broheems (diamond), Tuesday, 8 June 2004 03:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, I love someone whose favorite record is probably something far worse than YHF.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 14 June 2004 01:08 (twenty years ago)

I can firmly say that I could not love someone whose favorite album is In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
