being organised: floating of the boat or getting of the goat?

my colleague at work is SO organised that, when she got a ladder in her tights this morning, she had another pair in her desk drawer. her desk is immaculate and she always knows where everything is.

does this float your boat or does it get your goat? are you organised? do you wish you were? or are you goddam disorganised and happy to be so?

I wish to be a little more organised. I like the fact that my desk is full of unexpected twists and turns - however, the frustration of looking away for one second and then finding your PENS haf gone missing and oh my god, where's the post it, ummmm, just hang on a second you mumble down the phone, arrrghhhhhh hello co-worker and YOUR organised desk, give me a post-it!

In my desk drawer I have a load of gumph left over from the last person who works here who aint come back to pick it up yet, lots of DEFRA stickers, and TWO JARS OF COFFEE. One is Mellow Birds. It was given to me. I R not liking it, does anyone else want it? Also I have a HUUUUGE jar of Nescafé which I R liking lots! On my desk R lurking some teabags made specially for hot water. I like being given freebies. Actually, my desk is a nightmare. I must organise it.

Co-worker who I don't like is always organised so on that basis I'll say it's a dud. I like things to be nicely messy but not PIT-like. Urgh. That just reminded me of the state my bedroom is in. Urrrgh.

Generally organized, in that I like to keep my desk clear, but there are a couple of piles of chaos in trays for that rough-edged look. Same at home.

I got to organise Katie on Friday night. She was hardcore. Still, it's thanks to Katie that I had as good a time as I did - had I not been wanting to get a cab home with her and Amos, I'd have left when I got knackered, rather than waiting for my second wind. Parties RoXoR (is that right?).

That level of organisation would annoy me. It's fair enough to remember to have obvious things with you; keys, money, lipgloss, walkman, pen, books, shoes, pants, tissues, etc., but having spare tights is tempting fate. It's like admitting defeat and saying 'No, I will not be capable of keeping my tights nice for a whole day' If you want your tights to stay nice it takes effort. You must practice. Tights are precious things and should be taken great care of. Personally, I prefer to leave ladders in my tights, so I can get home and look at them and reminisce about the day I've had. 'Ah, look' I say to myself 'Here is that rip I got when I got caught on a door' or 'Yes, that is where wild dogs savaged me, where is my other leg, hem hem?'

I am organized I have a place for everything and I know where to find them as a rule. Sometimes though i put things away for safe keeping and never see them again :( Hmmm Go figure! Gale
