Come on then. How pointless on a scale of 1 to 10 was having this show? I remember when I first heard that they were continuing with "i love the 90s" i couldn't really believe it, then it happened, then finally we got to the 1999 show.

SHAME on you television. Big SHAME.

to paraphrase some columnist in the gwardian, "pfff, 1999, eh. look at everyone, how they dressed just a little bit different to the way we do now. what marginally different fools we were."

Will anyone admit to watching it?

Can't wait for 'I Love 2001.' "What were thinking? Death from on high!"

Ned Raggett, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

They should do "I Love 2002" RIGHT NOW!!

Andrew L, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

the insider stuff on Queer as Folk was pretty interesting

Did they actually try to pull misty-eyed 'what were we on'-type clichés? Surely not? I imagine it just being dull. Like an end of year round up on TV but two years late. I'm afraid I missed the whole of the I LOVE THE 90s series.

I Love Space:1999

I met Martin Landau once. His nose really does twitch like a bunny rabbit's.

i only watched becoz i was channel-flipping and there was stewart rimming young nathan, and this was my favourite tv drama series ever and NO ONE wrote anything sensible about it (even the ppl who really liked it), so i stayed to watch the insider comments (actress who plays brian's mum: "One day on the props list it had 'Spunk (to be edible)'") and the er rimming.

Also long-ago Suzy sed aidan quinn shd play me in the ILE movie!!??¿¿¡¡

But wasn't Randall and Hopkirk(deceased) on at the same time? I love 1999, is just 20 years too early. But since in 20 years, there probably won't be any public service broadcasting to make it, that's why they did it.

Top Ten TV Baddies was better - and it also featured that Queer as Folk guy in greater depth (ie: more shagging clips)

1999 was the only 90s one I saw. There was certainly some barrel- scraping going on. Ten minutes on Kelly Brook was just bizarre.

Ally C, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Who is Kelly Brook?

Billy Dods, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Exactly

(Also, 10 minutes of Brimful of Asha the other week. Why?)

Graham, Monday, 5 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

10 minutes on Kelly Brook

, Tuesday, 6 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i watched it, but only cos i was still suffering from a wine/vodka/whisky/gin hangover, there was NOTHING else on and it was undemanding. was vaguely outraged about the redundancy of nostagia for 2 years ago etc etc. then went to bed.

katie, Tuesday, 6 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The ten minutes spent on Kelly Brook was just a logical progression from earlier bits in the I love the 19X0's. I haven't actually seen any of the other 90's programmes, but there does seem to have been a shift from featuring things that might possibly be shared cultural experiences to including more that comes under the category of media blip memes. I suspect this is down to the people who made the programmes being outside the whole media business in the 70's, but up to their eyeballs in it in the late 90's. Hence hoopla about nonentity Kelly Brook.

RickyT, Tuesday, 6 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

She's quite tsaty, though, and she came out of it rather well, I thought.

Mark C, Tuesday, 6 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had completely forgotten about Sunscreen. Thank goodness IL1999 reminded me.

Madchen, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it is lame to be against this silly prog = i am totally for it however it should have been longer viz they shd have rebroadcast EVERYTHING ON TV that year in order

mark s, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what RickyT said. plus a quick mensh for "I Hate Right Now" off tvgh

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

1. You mean it's already been on?? Oh, no!!

2. Mark S's idea is unbeatable, in a way.

the pinefox, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it will surely be on again, pinefox

mark s, Wednesday, 7 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)
