Heh.

Thing is, tho I like the words "oh" and "you" (yes "thou" IS politer), I*hate hate HATE* the words "loser" and "sad" as used in this way, with contempt rather than compassion.

How happy a winner does this make me?

As Pantera = ^Far Beyond Driven^ so No.31 is far beyond sad on this gloomy Wednesday>>>all my little victories have been thoroughly pyrrhic>>>mail from ^friends reunited^ have [sympathetically -hah] sneered OYSL>>>when I win I'm OTT>>JOYJOYHAPPY>>>I remember a Jo Guest interview where she said she was a sad winner, interviewr replied Spread the Joy>>I didn't laugh

SAS + desert pink camo = Army of Lovers

We agree with Mr Sinker. A dastardly IPC sub-editor once changed an article we submitted so that the expression "sado tedium" (ie a sadistic infliction of boredom [the article was about the Wedding Present]) was replaced with "saddo tedium", which made us very melancholy indeed.

Sad losers are the ones who need the *most* attention.

Why do any of you feel like losers? Come on now people, there are a good many of us who can lift your spirits! If your good, I'll sing a song for you! Oh oh shoot! I forgot I can't sing :( Help! Gale

I quite like 'loser' as it makes me think of America. I hate the new meaning of 'sad'. When it first emerged, it was a witty twisting of language. Now it is dreadful and I hate it when I catch myself saying it.

It was the ability of past comrade at the UCI newspaper John Ronan to do something with the word 'loser' that impressed me. He was very much loud Boston Irish -- so 'loser' was inevitably said as 'LO-SAH!'

As the sort of person who uses these phrases alot let me tell you that loser and sad are both out. Typically I tend to exaggerate the situation(which doesn't matter much if you don't like the person anyway) and say something like "tragic". That's in with me lots.
