yes, this weekend - all weekend - i will be attending the nacs (north atlantic college stores) trade show in beeeyoootiful lancaster, pa. (home of those lovable scamps, the amish. and outlet shopping as far as the eye can see.) my WHOLE WEEKEND. pat fucking croce is going to be there giving a speech. my braine melts at the mere thought of the utter tedium. i need ideas on how - like rage against the machine - i can bring this thing down from the inside. (or just keep from losing it.)

Well, I've only ever be to the online exhibition at Earls Court. I picked up all the freebies I could get (mouse mats, mugs, pens, frisbies, sweets, CD roms). I had a whole afternoon off work to go, and only stayed an hour! haha!

So my advice, is go for the freebies and take 2 or 3 of everything to share with your work colleagues!

WHen you are in the licenced trade - Trade SHows take on a whole new, horrificly drunken whirl. Your first is exciting - all these people want me to drinktheir beer for free. After that you learn to be wary of any new alcopop and Black Sambuca.

I love the word 'shennanigans'
That's scant consolation, Jess. Sorry mate.

Went to a Toys and Games Trade Show a little while ago at the NEC - most soul-destroying experience ever. Lots of geezers in suits exchanging business cards, talking abt H. Potter merchandise, all determined not to have ANY fun despite being surrounded by loads of wicked toys. Only gd moment - seeing some poor sap in a GIANT yellow Mr. Happy suit trying to waddle down v. narrow aisles.

Jess - are there no free samples you can pick up and trade for drugs or recs?
