It's sunny and I am not at Glastonbury.

Mee too. "Betty Blue" it's personal.

Blue Velvet, only slightly better than The Blues Brothers because of Dennis Hopper. I admit I don't know the other two. What about Blue Streak or Blue Chips or Blue Steel?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

watch em all in that order
sleep thru the second half
BLUE SUNSHINE
is overrated

'Blue Velvet' the movie or the song?

What about 'BLUE'?

'Betty Blue' -- teenage kicks.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd sort of like to see betty blue again - i remember liking it and thinking it was kind of stupid at the same time.

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Exactly! IT just came out on DVD sans extras in the UK, and it looks fantastic. My theory is that the low-res nature of VHS has made the cinema du look look less than it really is. On DVD it's looking great.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i remember the soundtrack being fantastic. i also remember it seemed like a really bright, colorful film.

isn't there a director's cut that's like 4 hours long? is that any good?

J.D. (Justyn Dillingham), Friday, 25 June 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

3 hours -- that's what the DVD release is. The soundtrack was an '80s classic, with this piano thing that's going round my head today. In many ways it's a 'state of the nation' film.

Now, anyone got the thread title ref yet??

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 25 June 2004 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

The Blues bros coulda been a contender if it werent for the sequel.

one year passes...
Just saw Betty Blue last night and have some questions:

1) Were Betty and Bob having an affair? I drifted off for a second towards the end and felt I might have missed something...

I'm still digesting this one, I doubt I'll ever see it again but it was definitely better than I thought it would be.

(FWIW: A Woman Under The Influence is one of my favorites and I watch that at least once every couple years).
