Suspended in time for two weeks

So when the board comes back to life on the 16th, will all these ancient threads from early July '04 still be here, as if the last two weeks were just a blink of an eye? Or will the front page be a blank slate?

And won't it be strange if I die in a silo collapse between now and then, and my thread lives on?

...if I die in a silo collapse ...

What a strange, bucolic, Edward Hopperesque way to expire.

Does that mean someone who loves us will rescue us, but our eyesight will be shot for a bit?

I hope that someone who loves us can eat a lot of corn.

I once had a dream about my mother photographing one of those. Wonder what that meant.

Jesus, I read that as "photoshopping one of those." This strange future has warped me, send me back.

"Your mama so crazy, she be photoshoppin' silos!"

SILOS, BIATCH!

Bimble (bimble), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:13 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, how many threads are there on this subject now?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i really like the idea of a blank slate btw. with everything before on a separate site - threads unlocked only if you have moderator approved eerie powers

Only now all the sages are wanking off about how a break is a good idea have I realized that the shittness of ILX is down in part to the oldsters' over-protective attitude towards it. I think it's been pretty good of late, but no, nothing can live up to 2001... bullshit.

ILX is a Hot Kettle.

I hear you should never eat at Hot Kettle as everything is undercooked.

THIS IS THE HOME OF THE VAIN!

get thee hence, or suffer the consequences!

four years pass...

Things I won't be able to comment on in the next week due to the blackout:

- How the repair went on my roof turbine that got crushed by a tree branch the size of a railroad tie over the weekend.

- My insightful thoughts on McCain's acceptance speech and why drinking an entire bottle of Evian in the middle of the speech was a bad idea.

- How maybe I shouldn't have drafted Jon Kitna as my #2 quarterback. I mean, he's had a good preseason, but shit, he's still Jon Kitna.
