Gah, I'm never quick enough off the draw for these sorts of contests.

(Besides, how will we ever know who won?)

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

By seeing who had the last post on this thread dated 2nd July 2004.

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost are they multiplying?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Sigh, you have to ruin my fun, doncha? How do you expect us to wait TWO WEEKS to find out? I'm sure I'll have completely forgotten about the contest by then!

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It was shutting at noon GMT. We're on BST at the moment. (It took me while to work it out after noon as well Rob)

Anyway, I can confidently predict the last one will not be me.
(That's Andrew's cue to sneakily turn off the servers and prove me wrong...)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Not The Chills. No Kiwi postpunk bands for me, thanks. I'd rather have Delays. Oh boy would I rather have Delays. PLEASE DON'T GO, ILX!!! ::cries::

The terrorists have won.

aetherial hippopotamus, Friday, 2 July 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It would be for the best if I could end ILX with a picture of a naked Delays roadie. Coming full circle... or is that the other thread?

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Dunno

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I am the George Bush of this thread. The terrorists will not win.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

::pants::

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 10:59 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
And so, the winner of this particular compo, with a conclusive entry of Pants, is "my new identity"...

mark grout (mark grout), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

hey, did anyone else ever watch that show "My Secret Identity" where Jerry O'Connell had superpowers-he could run really fast, and he could fly around using aerosol spray cans to control his direction or something? I just have a vague memory of that show, but Kate's moniker on this thread made me think of it for the first time in like 12 years. I'm thinking it was a total crap show...but I could be wrong because I haven't seen it since I was eleven.

AaronHz (AaronHz), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

ten months pass...
Those were the days.

Lenny Voom, Thursday, 9 June 2005 12:33 (twenty years ago)

Indeed. Congratulations, Kate!

weren't there about 8 threads exactly like that?

N_Rq, Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:08 (twenty years ago)

Yes, but I am fairly certain that kate's was the final one pre-outage. Over on ILm, they were debating Daft Punk or something...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 9 June 2005 13:12 (twenty years ago)

Man, it's almost been a flipping YEAR since ILX outage? Insanity.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

GLORY DAYS (or something)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 9 June 2005 14:45 (twenty years ago)

Ah, summer of 2004. I think the outage really did cool down things the way people hoped it would - remember how crazy ILE was before it?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:19 (twenty years ago)

Haha, are you kidding?

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

I mean, maybe I'm being myopic, but it's all just sorta been the same to me.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

TS: (planned) July 2004 outage vs. (unplanned) December 2004 outage.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:21 (twenty years ago)

I'm not kidding, ILE had gotten quite nasty before the outage: John Darnielle qutting, Kate and Jon on each other's throats, all sorts of bickering going on. People were hoping the outage would make everyone chill down, and I think it did.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:24 (twenty years ago)

I thought it was all just a ploy to skip starting a birthday thread for me.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:25 (twenty years ago)

I reckon ILE was at it's best about this time last year, at least it's when I enjoyed myself the most. Nearly a whole year since the whole I Hate Clubbing and Oh My God I Hate Flip-Flops threads!

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

God, that December outtage was bizarre. And it coincided with Ken and Tracer being in Knox.

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:28 (twenty years ago)

Roxy, I was about to say someone I know is moving to Knoxville, but then I realized I don't actually know her (i.e., it's my friend's sister, who I've never met).

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

I think someone should make a book out of this thread and sell it on eBay.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Thursday, 9 June 2005 15:36 (twenty years ago)
