I WAS SO CLOSE! That would so have been the final excelsior had there been time for excelsioring.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:23 (twenty years ago)

I'm so glad that ILX is back... the lad I've been flirting with over on another board just posted a picture of himself and he looks like Courtney Taylor-Taylor!

Ma$onic Boom (kate), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:23 (twenty years ago)

i do not

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:25 (twenty years ago)

i was expecting this place to be like all different after 2 weeks of intensive upgrade but it just feels like i'm home again, which is nice.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:27 (twenty years ago)

*yawns and stretches*

Cor, is it time to wake up already? I had a lovely two week snooze!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:48 (twenty years ago)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 11:51 (twenty years ago)

ILE -- back in the saddle again.

Je4nne ƒury (Jeanne Fury), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:28 (twenty years ago)

Other things that happened over the two weeks: I spent $5 on the new Bucky Fuller stamps, I played through 79% of Starfox Adventures on Gamecube, I fell asleep on a plate of creamy peanut butter, I masturbated infrequently, I stirfried shrimps and pineapple chunks and onions and broccoli and cashews and bamboo shoots and mai fun noodles thrice, I exploded a $4 bottle of champagne all over a bunch of fireworks thus ruining them, and played a whole bunch of Talking Heads songs for a trio of drunk lesbians on my organ. None of this occurred during the hours of the day I usually read/post on ilx, though.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I want new gameCube games.

RECOMMEND AWAY!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:32 (twenty years ago)

I masturbated infrequently, I stirfried shrimps and pineapple chunks and onions and broccoli and cashews and bamboo shoots and mai fun noodles thrice

i sure hope this is not in chronological order especially since WASH HANDS was not mentioned once during that post.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:35 (twenty years ago)

I take it you've got both Monkeyball games? Have you played Viewtiful Joe?

I have been mostly playing XIII recently, and I'm still rubbish at it.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:36 (twenty years ago)

I haf Super Monkey Ball one - party games = so much better than the game propah, hurrah for Monkey Race!!!

Not played Viewtiful Joe, but it's supposed to be pretty difficuly innit, and it's always still about 30 or 40 quid, f#ck that matey.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:38 (twenty years ago)

My favs as of late:

*Starfox Adventures (corny but fun, gameplay somewhat akin to Legend of Zelda games, but with some flying in outer space bits too)

*Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (I never played this for the 64; I'm getting hype for the new one coming out sometime not-soon-enough)

*Simpsons Hit and Run (most straight-up FUN I've ever had playing a game...it's got better jokes in it than many of the newer episodes, plus, y'know, it's really like GTA: SPRINGFIELD)

*Mega Man Anniversary Thingamadoodle (like ALL THE MEGA MAN YOU COULD EVER WANT, all them old games, but way smooth gameplay & graphics)

Games coming out soon I am HYPE for: Prince of Persia 2, new Legend of Zelda, Metroid Prime 2

Games out now that I really want: Tales of Symphonia, The Hobbit, Metal Gear Solid 2 or whichever that one is, that James Bond one too (even though it's like impossible!)

x-post ha ha ken I left it out INTENTIONALLY...that's what I call my "white curry" ha ha

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:39 (twenty years ago)

brings out the taste in the shrimps.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:40 (twenty years ago)

What is Tales of Symphonia? Simpsons Hit and Run could be good.

I want some of those Zelda kubrick figures. THEY ARE SO CHEAP on lik-sang, but you've got to register for them to calculate shipping and I am sooo lazy.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:42 (twenty years ago)

http://tales.namco.com/

It's a very anime-visualed RPG. Supposed to be a very powerful & thorough play, although some of the plot elements are kinda cliched (OMG IN AN RPG NO WAY). The screenshots I've seen are amazing.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:49 (twenty years ago)

How is XIII? I keep seeing it for PS2 for cheap and thinking it looks cool.

St. Nicholas (Nick A.), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:49 (twenty years ago)

Actually I've just registered and shipping is 2.19 so that's about a fiver for my Wind Waker toys. Mmmmm. Want.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:55 (twenty years ago)

Now you've gone to the trouble of registering, surely it would be rude not to buy them!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:58 (twenty years ago)

GC games. Beyond Good and Evil is great once you get into it and dirt cheap

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:59 (twenty years ago)

hey what happneed to #I Love Film?

ambrose (ambrose), Friday, 16 July 2004 14:29 (twenty years ago)

look in inactive boards. everything with no new answers is classed as inactive. new answers are posts within the last week.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Friday, 16 July 2004 14:30 (twenty years ago)

hi

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Friday, 16 July 2004 14:36 (twenty years ago)

Feh, this place is already not as good as it was, like, half an hour ago.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 16 July 2004 14:52 (twenty years ago)

right then, what's new that's cool?

i *really* got into prince again for some reason while it was down.
i really have no idea why.

piscesboy, Friday, 16 July 2004 14:52 (twenty years ago)

hey is that 'show by popularity' link at the bottom of 'new answers' a nu-ILX thing, or has it always been there? nice!

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:11 (twenty years ago)

Super Monkey Ball 2 > Super Monkey Ball. Even the mini-games are better.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through Viewtiful Joe and have hit an impasse, but it's been a blast up till now. You can get it for under £20 on ebay, definitely, and I think there's a Player's Choice version (VJ Re-Loaded or summink).

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:22 (twenty years ago)

pinkpanther!!! what shoes are you wearing!!!???

gygax! (gygax!), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:23 (twenty years ago)

I'm late for the return party. Two weeks of waiting then I get caught up in something 5 minutes before NU-ILX time.

So what do we do now?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:29 (twenty years ago)

Hey! Why isn't Marlon Brando posting on here anymore? I haven't picked him up on the shortwave radio in WEEKS.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:33 (twenty years ago)

> hey is that 'show by popularity' link at the bottom of 'new answers' a nu-ILX thing, or has it always been there? nice!

i think it snuck in just before the lights went out. i seem to remember going to click the 'show all updated threads' and finding that instead (the 'show all updated' link came back a couple of hours later)

koogs (koogs), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:39 (twenty years ago)

oh thank god, they were beginning to become suspicious how quickly my response time at work was. I can go back to ignoring my work now

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:47 (twenty years ago)

wow, i actually *forgot* ILX was coming back today...hello everyone, and how have you been?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 16 July 2004 15:48 (twenty years ago)

actually, the 'show all updated threads' has disappeared again. it was v useful on monday mornings when you need to see more than the last 50 updated thread. maybe it's just that there aren't 50 updated threads yet... we'll see.

koogs (koogs), Friday, 16 July 2004 16:04 (twenty years ago)

I spent $5 on the new Bucky Fuller stamps

these are so rad! i want i want i want!

stockholm cindy (Jody Beth Rosen), Friday, 16 July 2004 16:40 (twenty years ago)

BF seems an odd (but welcome) choice for an american(?) stamp given some of his views: http://www.bfi.org/

koogs (koogs), Friday, 16 July 2004 17:08 (twenty years ago)

Totally, koogs! Here's a pretty good little piece about the stamps that mentions that. It's one of the reasons I went and bought some of them, even though I have access to a postage machine which sits about 20 feet from here.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 16 July 2004 17:25 (twenty years ago)

hey is that 'show by popularity' link at the bottom of 'new answers' a nu-ILX thing, or has it always been there? nice!

Been there for a few years since G wrote it.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 16 July 2004 17:35 (twenty years ago)

I accidentally visited that Bucky Fuller site while ILX was down! I was meaning to go to the British Film Institute site, but that requires a .uk at the end.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 16 July 2004 19:22 (twenty years ago)

I masturbated infrequently, ...and played a whole bunch of Talking Heads songs for a trio of drunk lesbians on my organ.

Not even sure what that implies except that I read things strangely.

Hello! I have played lots of KoL, gotten kind of annoyed with the ISC backup server, watched DVDs, and...pretty much usual everyday bullshit. Missed ILX. Oh, and I fell in love with a guy that I'll never see again.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Friday, 16 July 2004 19:41 (twenty years ago)

Don't worry, in 9 years you can make a critically acclaimed movie about your 80-minute reunion.

Hey! ILX got renewed for another season. Did anyone find out who shot J.R.?

jim wentworth (wench), Saturday, 17 July 2004 01:34 (twenty years ago)

I miss the "show all updated threads" function too. Is there a reason for it being gone?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Saturday, 17 July 2004 13:36 (twenty years ago)

Currently you are already seeing all updated threads, no need for the link.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Saturday, 17 July 2004 13:43 (twenty years ago)

Hello everyone! It feels really good having this forum back up again. Though we do need to applaud Mandee for setting up the temporary forums for those of us too weak to stay away for two weeks to play in. ;) Hopefully the positive changes I noted occurring on the temp ILX will carry over to regular ILX.

And I'm committed to not letting regular ILM intimidate me into not going over there and occasionally adding my $0.02. It was very enjoyable participating in temp ILM. :)

lauren (laurenp), Sunday, 18 July 2004 00:11 (twenty years ago)
