I am taking dance lessons. Already I can rumba, cha cha cha and waltz. Anyone else here ever do such things?

Yep. I took tap and jazz for years.

And stank at it.

This reminds me of New Year's eve a few years ago at a ski lodge in Vermont, where I worked and all the (straight) guys seemed to keep looking at my wife in her lavish red dress, with her long brown hair as the band played. (Maybe I'm reading too much into this) But then they played Chris DeBerg's "Lady In Red" and she came over to the bar and got me to dance with her. Only me. Only her.

Yes sir, mister. That's living.

i took dance lessons years ago. i was never any good at it, but i wanted to be. i've always envied really good dancers.

everybody is always tickled pink to find out that I can texas-two-step, (country) waltz, and somewhere deep in my brain the 22-step line dance still resides. I'm pretty crummy at it all, I need a very strong leader to enjoy myself.

i did tai-kwan-do for a few month when i was younger, and to go up a belt you have to do these funny fighting/dance routines.

haha your wife's band plays chris deberg.

At least she didn't fuck him like your momma did. (Just kidding)

my momma didn't fuck chris deberg. She made love to him.

I've never learned to waltz properly. I can do very very basic ballroom rumba. At times, I've gotten to the point where I can do the cha cha cha rasonably well.

I am desperate to get back to salsa dancing and dancing in general. I tried out my sprained (or whatever) foot last night with a little dancing in my apartment, and it held up okay, but it doesn't feel ready to get back to dancing for long stretches of time.

Fox trot is pretty sexy too.

Rockist Scientist, Sunday, 18 July 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I think those are called katas, ken. I had to do those too! I was awesome at it!

roxymuzak (roxymuzak), Sunday, 18 July 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I can swing, but I am not very good at it because I need a strong leader, I rarely pick up weak "twitchy" sort of signals and then we get off and I think it's his fault and he thinks it's my fault and it's just annoying. Also I waltz badly...I should take ballroom lessons. It sounds like fun!

Maria (Maria), Sunday, 18 July 2004 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I can dance, you can dance, everybody look at your hands. But your friends don't dance and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine.

I was kinda surprised when one time I asked my mom for a dance, and she didn't even know how to waltz. I know she's working-class, but still...

Tuomas (Tuomas), Sunday, 18 July 2004 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I have learned that dancing with ladies is a good way to steal their purses

Mike Hanle y (mike), Monday, 19 July 2004 02:23 (twenty-one years ago)

fuck all y'all, i can do the LAMBADA

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Monday, 19 July 2004 02:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to do jazz ballet in high school. I enjoyed dancing - it was just that sort of nobby funk wigging out to the latest pop choon sortt of dancing, like Hot Gossip or whoever used to do (only without the raunch, heh). I am thusly SO SICK of that "Break my Stride" song as a result. That and "I need a Hero".

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 19 July 2004 02:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently I can cdance because I feel music well. That's what she said, anyway... it's gott'n me nowhere, by the way.
