Oh bugger, clean forgot to tell y'all about this.

TONIGHT at the New Cross Inn, that's next to The Venue on New Cross Road, nearest tube, uh, New Cross or New Cross Gate:

With some bands!

Including the brilliant Grand Delinquents and some other bands who I've forgotten, and Charlie No4 playing some records in a row without too many gaps between them!

Come along! FREE to get in, doors 8pm, pub hours so not a horribly late one, but hey, if you're in the area...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

HTML, you am evil.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I'm free tonight and in the area, so I could feasibly pop along after a bit of 'Stenders!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

That is just down the road from Casa Nipper. I may well pop along and sample the fabled Nu-X scene.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

New Cross Inn is gay. Charlie, are you thre ginger at goldsmiths that everyone hates?

lol I don't think so! I'm neither ginger nor at Goldsmiths, at any rate, although I'm not necessarily qualified to respond to the last bit...

Trust me, the night wasn't supposed to be at the New Cross Inn at all - I've never been there, is it horrible? It was meant to be at the Paradise Bar but they've had some cock-up with the drinks license or something so it had to be moved.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually I have a contract out on some Goldsmiths students at the moment so will be bringing my rotten tomato stash.

Stevie - fancy going for a pint in the New Cross Sam Smiths pub before this if it's convenient?

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Sure - I'll give you a call when I get home about 6.30ish.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

The New Cross Inn isn't a great pub - essentially yer student-friendly stripped-out white walls, pine and bad abstract art type place, but its fine for the sort of night you'll be playing. Better than the horrific den of iniquity that is the Paradise Bar at any rate.

This is just down the road from me as well but sadly I've already got plans for tonight.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Hold up Jerry, just got a message from DJ Crow Atak saying she is going to yours at 8?! Shall we continue this on email?

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

at the pote.com address ?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I've just mailed your work address...

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Is this an Angular thing Charlie? Anyway money and work dictate I will not be attending, esp. with it being at the other end of the earth from Crouch End.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Nope it's not Angular, it's, uh, something else. C4ffy St Luc3 innit.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry Charlie - too last minute and anyway I've been to a film tonight.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 20 July 2004 21:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes I am sorry we are rubbish

*holds out hand for slap*

Like, who are Angular anyway? We went to see the Playwrights at an Angular thing at the Windmill the other week, and apart from the Playwrights, I spent the rest of the night planning a vendetta on HORRIFIC STUDENTS with novelty Casios.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 21 July 2004 08:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks to those of you who made it - even if you did bugger off before a. I'd played a single song and b. Grand Delinquents had even come on. And why? Because it was "too loud" and you "couldn't talk". One question - do you travel by aeroplane and then complain that it's "too high"? Fules.

And you missed my masterful Was Not Was/Interpol/Paul McCartney segue :-(

Keep 29th July free for Everything You Do Is A Baboon, y'all!
