How do you suppose this happens? Will this only happen more as my alcoholism comes to the fore? Was the blood from my stomach? Is there going to be blood in my bm (this is an allusion to the movie Happiness)? What should one eat after vomiting blood? Perhaps some mac and cheese? Cause I was thinking mac and cheese.

common misconception: blood from your stomach does not turn your bm a vibrant red but instead a dark brown (cf: coagulation).

Either you're puking up blood from your internal organs and need to go to the doc asap, or (way more likely) your throat has become irritated and that's where the blood is coming from. Have you been puking a lot or are you really dehydrated? Because the stomach acid can irritate your esophogeal lining and result in minor abration. Harmless but painfull. (I've had this happen to me, gave me quite a scare, but when I called the doc they said no need to worry). Drink some flat ginger ale and feel better.

Update: I think my throat was just fucked up from throwing up stomach acid. I decided to go w/humus/pita/sprouts thing for lunch. Very refreshing.

Dying alcoholics puke up what is known as 'coffee ground vomit', named because that's exactly what it looks like. I don't know what it's made of - my guess is dried blood and shit. Extremely unpleasant.

after my first night out with Turbonegro I spent the flight back to London puking lots - from food, to liquid, to the water I'd just drunk, to bile, to some bizarre black goo that made me ache all over puking, and tasted disgusting. I stopped vomiting at that point, and drinking crazy heavily shortly afterwards.

My question: what was this black stuff? Please don't say 'coffee ground vomit'.
