Would it have been better if Hugh Laurie had written it with Ben Elton in the starring role? Or should Joely Richardson have written it?

Howzabout a 90 minute Fry and Laurie sketch - Stephen giving birth, a la Arnie? Ben Elton off somewhere writing "Punk! The Musical" ?
Me doing Joely Richardson?

Lock Richard Curtis in a concrete box and you've got yourself a deal.

It was the only Ben Elton book I have laughed out loud at, but the film was truly horribly revoltingly bad. Possibly because Joely Richardson is dreadful. As was Hugh Laurie, in this at least.

Dud, by the way.

I've seen it twice. I must admit I prefer 'Fortysomething', but it's not bad.

i saw the second half of this tripe on BBC the other night. Richardson is a minx and i wondered if Laurie ever thought he'd be in that sort of role (romcom yes maybe but sex scenes??!).
