Incredible stuff today. but I'll miss the highlights :-(

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 22 July 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

That's no good dude!

Yeah, blimey, poor old Brian Lara, putting England in and watching them bat like that all day. His record innings could be under threat at this rate!

Though, I guess we'll see what the pitch is really like when England bowl. WI could make a big score too.

I didn't know Wisconsin had a cricket team!

jaymc, Thursday, 22 July 2004 17:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh it was lovely. Well done Rob Key, a proper fat cricketer who gives it a bit of a biff.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 23 July 2004 01:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I keep thinking that Key looks like he's an apple-cheeked farmhand from an H. E. Bates novel.

caitlin (caitlin), Friday, 23 July 2004 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I hope it goes to a fifth day!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 July 2004 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It was a good day today. A nice old fashioned collapse and plenty o' umpiring controversy. Giles looked good.

Matt (Matt), Friday, 23 July 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yep, poor Brian Lara got a shocking decision! They talked about cake a lot on Test Match Special, so yeah a good day.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 July 2004 16:29 (twenty-one years ago)

apparently there might be a few showers tomorrow so gd chance of a fifth day.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 24 July 2004 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not watching this cos I'm at work (well, I could be, but one of the other two people in is a Formula One fan, so that's on in the side office) but it seems terribly exciting.

Flintoff smacked the ball around like nobody's business when he came in this afternoon, Vaughan got his century, Andrew was then Out Like Flint and ENG declared with a 477-run lead. In the bag, surely?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Sunday, 25 July 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not watching it either cos I have some reading to do :-(

I'd say we'll get our 7th win in 8 matches but Lara is the one who can spoil it.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 25 July 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Lara appears to havegot his eye in quite quickly. Should be an interesting last session of the day.

Ed (dali), Sunday, 25 July 2004 14:03 (twenty-one years ago)

only a tenner to get in tomorrow, I'll be there!

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 25 July 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Got to boo the members for not participating in the mexican wave, that was fun. Then hung around at the end and watched the players coming out of the Pavillion, Freddie thinks he's a rock star, and all Simon Jones did all day was sign autographs!

Oh, and we won, that was cool.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

oh, and haha Ashely Giles is like a phoinex from the ashes now!!!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 July 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

giles was amazing. did he win man of the match?

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 26 July 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, best bowling figures at lords for 30 years or something daft like that.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 July 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

He did appeal for everything though, even when the ball went for buys...one West Indian gentleman walked out in disgust.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 26 July 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

haha! I love cricket.
