i find that photo of the monkey walking upright quite unsettling. also sad in a way i can't put my finger on. almost as though the monkey would be wise *not* to imitate us sorry humans.... she seems to embody a kind of striving that is essentially tragic. though the effect (on me) is less poignant than grotesque.
